I'm not suggesting that we do that but that's why the Administration is slow to respond to our complaints. Another reason why the Administration is slow to respond is because people like westcoastaggie, blue haze, Kev, Professor and Aggie2039 constantly make lame excuses for them. By not speaking truthfully about our problems, yall are just enabling more incompetence. |

man, funny how things change over time. i remember when coach brown first got hired, man tons of aggies (especially the "100 percenters") were like "great pickup", "outstanding hire", "wonderful caa experience". yet, it was very clear that coach brown had never been a head coach before but folk simply dismissed that the man was "unproven" as a head coach and still called him a "great hire" because this came from the "100 percenters" club.
sorry, coach brown's coaching ability judgement process is now "fully mature". so i don't buy the notion that its "too early" to judge coach brown. i agree its too early to judge coach ross, but its not too early to judge coach brown.
i mean, what's long enuf? when or "If" you ever see the results you wanna see? is that the measurement? man, pub-leeeze. there was nothing whatsoever that i saw during this "near winless" season that says coach brown has this team headed in the right direction. if anything, next season will probably be worse than this season. shoot, let's see how "recruiting" goes this offseason. if we don't have a good recruiting class and the team still doesn't win more than a game or two, folk will "still" be making excuses for this coaching staff next season...

Earl trying to save face. He hired these coaches Brown and Ross. Greensboro college might beat the mbb team this year. Earl days are numbered. I expect our mbb team would look different if we had centers. And it's MUCH too early to call either of the 2 coaches bad. |

Quit trying to make excuses for both of these coaches. Ross has no excuse for not having a Big Man. He had ample time to recruit big men but he didn't. Instead of fitting the team with a bunch of guards he should have mixed it up to have a big man available. Ross & Brown may do better in the next several years but right now they are horrible hires. Credit that to your outgoing AD. |

He should have had at least 3 Big men from the get go. He is suppose to be an experienced coach.

He should have had at least 3 Big men from the get go. He is suppose to be an experienced coach. I agree with at a minimum 3 Big men on the team. I disagree with you on whether or not we know Coach Ross is a bad hire. Not enough data for me. Suppose we had 3 big men and the 2 experience Big men had season ending injuries leaving a 3 star Freshman. This Freshman big starts off slow but you see improvement in him over the 7 games played, yet the team has lost all games. Is this a coach problem or a lack of talent, experience, or depth problem? You need more time to determine how the team grows and what adjustments the coach makes in my opinion. The above is a hypo, but it makes a point that we need to see what kind of adjustments our coach can make while being handicapped due to unforeseen injuries. You can tell whether a person knows his stuff even while losing a lot of games because his team is very competitive. Folks will make comments like if he ever gets more talent that team will be a tough out. My question to you is do you believe you have seen enough games to conclude that Coach Ross can't make this handicapped team competitive in the CAA due to his coaching abilities? I admit the point differential of these OOC games concern me, but will it carry on into the CAA games. We have about 6 to 8 more games before conference starts. I may join you or disagree with you at that point. |

I thought my responses and participation on focus groups on the direction of the University and Engineering Department mattered a lot more. I've spoken directly to Hilton on multiple times about the timeframe of the Capital Campaign. I don't believe I've made any excuses for the basketball program. We've been trash for almost 30 years. It's ridiculous. I'm sorry if giving grace to an underfunded HBCU on the speed of improvements is a lame excuse in your eyes. |
