The team has fallen a long way from the standard set by the 2019/20 team. If it wasn't for covid it is likely that team would have gone to the dance.

heck pommie, "almost" our entire athletic department has fallen on hard times since 2019/20 compared to where we were...

I can’t explain what is happening here. Football could have easily been 0-11 & the way our men’s basketball team looks right now, an 0-24 season is a wager-able line. Women’s basketball, bowling, & maybe baseball can save us!

It was Harry’s first season and with Kam, Devon, Ron and Andre that was a good team. TV didn’t recruit well and was clueless offensively. Good luck for the rest of the season but I am watching Uni of Cumberlands who have started 8-0.

ad hilton is partially responsible for this embarrassment. he is responsible for both hiring a new coach and setting up our ooc schedule. i think the jury is still out on coach ross, too early to draw any definite conclusions except that he failed to sign enough bigs for this year's roster. but hilton knew before anybody else that he had to hire a new coach and "anytime" you hire a new coach, you should have 2 or 3 "cupcake games" on the schedule and hilton failed to do that.
in all fairness to coach ross, he needs more time before i can draw any definite conclusions about his coaching ability. but hilton should've known that no matter who he hired as our new head coach, we would need 2 or 3 "cupcake games" on our schedule. not scheduling 2 or 3 "cupcake games" this season is a major scheduling mishap...

If I'm not mistaken OOC games are scheduled two to 3 years a head of time . So Hilton was already locked in and committed. Like the WSSU game coming up next season and the SEC game . There is know why he could have known that this team would fall this far from grace .

Happy Thanksgiving, Peeps!
I wanted to bring a little levity to the situation and pass along a little holiday cheer! Now on to business!
I posted earlier in the month that our best chances for wins would come in Alabama this week in the holiday invitational tournament we are playing in, along with the return trip to Vegas in the Chris Paul HBCU Challenge.
Unfortunately, I've been proven wrong, as we lost to MERRIMACK on 11/22! We play Alabama State tomorrow afternoon at 2, and Samford on Saturday at 3. Alabama State is 1-4 and has gotten boat raced by a couple of teams early, losing to Iowa by 30, Samford by 32, Ole Miss by 10, and Memphis by 17. IF we can get a few of the seventy (70) 3-point shots we take per game to fall, and IF we can figure out that boxing out is a helpful strategy that can lead to points in the paint or possession of the basketball, we can get this one! If not, I don't see us winning on Friday, nor do I see us being competitive or winning on Saturday against Samford and, for that matter, the rest of the year. I pray that I am totally off base in a statistically/data-driven prediction of an 0-31 season, but as an old boss from my first job out of Aggie Land (1989) used to say: "It don't look too good!"
Coach Ross has asked for "patience as we figure things out." That's a trait that the Aggie Faithful have had to develop as we endure woeful outcomes in football and basketball over the course of the year. I am still of the belief that by the 2025 athletic year, we should be a few games over .500 in men's sports across the board, but are average and/or mediocre outcomes what we signed on for when we outgrew and left the MEAC AND Big South?
Let's tune in tomorrow and Saturday and see. Let's also cheer on the women's team. They're BALLING and carrying the banner for us!
Hey...At least the A&T intramural football team won the intramural chip and is headed somewhere to play some sort of playoff! That, and I hear the intramural basketball league is mad competitive! I pray that Mr. Brown and Mr. Ross and watching those games and can find some diamonds in the rough to help! In the case of football, they better have that 3.5 GPA that Brown ill-advisedly levied for walk-ons! Maybe that breath away from 0-11 made him realize that this ain't William & Mary, also known as the Wake Forest of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and he snapped into reality and will take a 2.75!

If you not going to develop young men what are you in the coaching business for; I guess he wants them to walk in with no personal development needed. Certainly makes his job easy; now just coach. Smh…

I would feel better if he successfully recruited some height.

I posted in the 2023 recruitment thread awhile back that Coach Ross does not or has not been successful in recruiting kids over 6'9". I postulated that real tall guys don't fit well in his aggressive defensive system. I have not observed his system but had read here that he loves to press, well real tall guys are not as agile and quick in cutting players or passing lanes.
A repeat of some of that post is below. Form your own opinion.
Below info does not consider signed transfers and only players 6'8" or taller, no matter their weight. For this post only, I will make the assumption that they are post players. 2006-07: Signed no Bigs ; 5-26 2007-08: Signed no Bigs ; 14-17 2008-09: one 6'9" Big ; 13-19 2009-10: one 6'8" Big ; 7-24 2010-11: Signed no Bigs ; 14-17 2011-12: Signed no Bigs ; 18-14 2012-13: one 6'9" Big ; 19-14 2013-14: one 6'9" Big ; 25-10 2014-15: one 6'8" and one 6'9" Bigs ; 10-20 2015-16: Signed no Bigs ; 7-23
