Holmes graduated cum laude from North Carolina A&T in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications, and was a four-year letterman for the Aggies at defensive tackle under head coach Bill Hayes. In 1999, he was voted team captain and helped A&T win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and Black college football national championship. He also came back and spoke to the team this year during Homecoming week.

This Aggie brother remembers his roots.

dang! he played in '99! i'll never forget that year, cuz that was the year that we upset famu to win the meac championship! that was a very historic game and oleschool was there. that game in '99 was the most "raucous aggie crowd" i've ever seen in aggie stadium, no other game has come remotely close. won't no doggone "wine and cheese" crowd in aggie stadium that day.
welp, guess there's no chance we'd ever see him as head coach or athletic director at a&t cuz he's definitely making multi-millions of dollars in the nfl...

Brad will be a strong candidate for NFL Executive of The Year. anybody who can turn one of the "losingest" nfl franchises into a championship contender deserves to be named nfl executive of the year. detroit is one of the very few nfl teams that's "NEVER" been to a super bowl, much less win a super bowl. only 3 other teams (cleveland, houston, and jacksonville) have "NEVER" been to a super bowl. now that detroit has "clinched" the north division title, it marks the first time that has happened in 30 some years which makes this accomplishment even more impressive...

Tom Krasovic: NFL’s MVP is TBD — but the league’s MVE has done wonders with Detroit Lions Brad HolmesMaybe Wilbert Montgomery was right to compare Brad Holmes to Ozzie Newsome in comments to the Detroit Free Press. Former Rams scouting executive has made several excellent moves in his 3 years as GM of the Detroit Lions. BY TOM KRASOVIC DEC. 28, 2023 9:28 AM PT ‘Tis the season for NFL award selections. But with two weeks’ of games still remaining, I’ll spare you the explainers on my current pencil-only choices of Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson as MVP, Houston’s DeMeco Ryans as top coach, Cleveland’s Myles Garrett as top defensive player, San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey as top offensive player, Houston’s C.J. Stroud as top rookie on offense and Philadelphia’s Jalen Carter as top rookie on defense. The NFL offers no award for Most Valuable Entertainer. Being a can-do guy, I’ll remedy that by naming Detroit Lions talent man Brad Holmes the first winner of the MVE, while lauding Holmes, 44, also for holding a degree in journalism. My flawless logic: the NFL exists for entertainment, and Holmes has played a pivotal role in making the long-tedious Detroit Lions fun to watch. The Lions used to be known for hosting a game every Thanksgiving despite often playing like turkeys. Now they’re known for Holmes and colleagues having turned them into division titlists for the first time in 30 years. At worst, they’ll enter the playoffs seeded third. The Lions (11-4) score 27.5 points per game (fifth of 32 teams) behind efficient quarterback Jared Goff, a bunch of blockers who entertain football geeks like me and playmakers headed by gritty receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown... www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/chargers-rams/story/2023-12-28/tom-krasovic-nfls-mvp-is-tbd-but-the-leagues-mve-has-done-wonders-with-detroit-lions

Was not an upset and our band showed their bigg a$$ band up, big time. That's the game where FAMUs band announcer made a derogatory comment after their halftime performance about Golden Delight weaves.
