Wasn't that Rod Broadway in his 1st season linkHe was in a rebuild season similar to Coach Brown. I wonder at the time how much flack he received after his 1st 3 games when his only win was against a non-D1 team. Now look at how much Coach Broadway is admired for the job he did at A&T. coach broadway didn't get criticized for losing to norfolk in his first season nor for starting out 1-2 because the previous season our team only won "1 game" out of 11 games. coach broadway went 5-6 in his first season, including a very impressive "upset" win over the defending meac champions (bcu) by the score of 22-3 in aggie stadium. so in his first season, coach broadway "exceeded expectations" and he beat the defending meac champions. but so far coach brown has done neither of those things, he's already loss to the meac defending champions this season. coach brown inherited a 7-4 team which had been a "championship caliber" team for over a decade. whereas, coach broadway inherited a dormant 1-10 team that was not far removed from losing 27 games in a row. not to mention, coach broadway had "no spring practice" at all, reduced regular season practice time (both due to apr sanctions), and he only had 29 scholarships to boot. i can only assume that you were not "closely" following aggie football back in those days, otherwise i have to raise an eyebrow as to why you even asked the question. big, big difference between what coach broadway inherited compared to what coach brown inherited! mind you, relative to qb's, the only game a&t won the year prior to coach broadway taking over was won with a " walk-on baseball player" as our starting qb. so i don't wanna hear nothing about coach brown not having adequate qb's on his roster. clearly coach brown inherited a far more "favorable" program than coach broadway did and it ain't even close...

You are correct about many of the things you said in your post. But my comparison was that it was their 1st year as coaches; they both had to rebuild their teams due to lots of loss of key players; and they both had bad starting records. I don't know much about Coach Broadway's 1st season which is why I asked how much flack did he receive. According to you not much because expectations were extremely low by most. Keep in mine Coach Broadway was a season HC hired away from other schools while Coach Brown is the HC of his first team. My whole thing is Coach Broadway receive time to do his thing after a slow start, so I would like to give Coach Brown time to observe whether he can turn things around. I don't know if he can, but the team needs to "look and compete better."

Coach Brown dose have to basically rebuild this offense from scratch ,that is until individuals decide to start playing like the scholarship athletes that they are on paper . Outside of the RB's and the QB /QB's that have not played . The rest are just Trash and are playing like it. Unless/ Until they turn this poor execution play around on offense , Coach Brown will have a rebuilding project on his hands going forward with the QB,WR and O line on this offensive unit . We will see what Saturday brings . Hopefully they can execute their game plan and look like a Football teams offensive unit on the field .

Elon proved to be tough. Norfolk looks like it is feeling itself too. Home game, big crowd, A&T buzz in the air. This is another Test. Our first drive vs Elon showed me something. However I wish that we could have done some Trick-a Ration, vs a Conf Opp, to have a different game. Plus some screen plays ect.
Really Now is the Time to give defenses something else to think about.

They can't even line up right and you want Trick-a-Ration 😆 What the Hell this may work for The Keystone Aggies Offense.

The Broadway/Brown comparisons really need to stop. I don't see the purpose they serve..... Yeah. TOTALLY DIFFERENT situations, from teams they each inherited, the conference they play in, supporter/fan expectations, etc.

We will see what Saturday brings . Hopefully they can execute their game plan and look like a Football teams offensive unit on the field . i wouldn't call any of our players "trash", particularly on "offense". before the season started, folk were giving brickhandler "very high praises". he was a "3 star" qb coming outta high school and a lot of aggies (myself not included) considered him the next coming of "tom brady" before the season started. i never considered him the next coming of "tom brady", but nobody can tell me he's as awful of a qb as what we've seen from him this season. no reason in the world brick should look so bad this season. i don't think he's been coached properly, i don't think the play calling was "simplified" to take advantage of his strengths while giving his weaknesses more time to develop. i don't blame our players for this ugly start. the players we have are talented enough to have beaten elon this season, last year's team would've beaten this year's elon team. just like coach broadway gets credit for taking the little bit of talent he had in his first season and "exceeding expectations", coach brown gets credit for this season's poor performances thru our first 3 games. i mean, how do ya go from 7-4 last season to becoming the worst passing offense, likely the worst offense period, this season? i don't recall losing any offensive linemen to the portal. supposedly, the o-line was gonna be the strength of our offense this season. so now all of a sudden they're "trash"? we don't have very "experienced" qb's returning from last season, but we also don't have the "worst" qb's in the country either. yes, we loss tuten. but graves and christian are "reasonable" replacements for tuten though not as productive as tuten was. our receivers are a big "question mark", in my opinion. but none of that says to me that our offense should be "dead last" in the country. at the very least, our offense this season should be "respectable". to me, this is all on our coaches. it ain't like half our team transferred, we have plenty of players that are capable of at least maintaining our foundation. nobody was saying "anything" about a total team "rebuild" before the season started, not even the head coach. but now that we're losing? all of a sudden, now we're "rebuilding"? then why didn't "anybody" say that before the season started? granted, we all can agree that our d-line is "lite in da azz". one could argue that we had enuf time since january to bring in "at least" 1 good nt on defense, but that didn't happen. i guess that's the players fault, smdh...

Hopefully the quarterbacks and receivers are singing the same song this week. The bye week should have given the time to bond.

Also Coach Odum is in year three at Norfolk State. He has to show his supervisors some hope for the future.
