These are the kinds of games that make me question why we pretend to be Division I at all. The Celebration Bowl champ losing 59-0 at the end of three quarters and squeaked out a touchdown in the 4th, not to mention NCCU beat our azz thoroughly

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards I'm not talking about BEATING them. I'm just talking about showing up.. well, you know why hbcu's like us schedule these kinda games in the first place. its for the "money", nothing more, nothing less. relative to hbcu's being d1, there's a lot of benefits to being d1 even though it costs more. the biggest benefit being "exposure". you can kick azz in all sports at the d2 level, even win "national championships" in football and basketball, but hardly anybody would know about it except the alums of the schools that accomplishes that. whereas, the "exposure" we got when our men won the meac championship in basketball and advanced to beat liberty in the play-in round was far more exposure than any d2 national championship in any sport would provide. i mean, look at the "exposure" we got in 4 cb's and our track team when coach ross was here? simply, "priceless"! i think hbcu's have "zero" chance of winning a d1 championship in basketball or bcs football. but i wouldn't rule out an hbcu winning an fcs national championship (doesn't mean we will) or national championships in any of the other d1 sports. so i personally don't have a problem with hbcu's competing at the d1 level, but i would have a problem with an hbcu trying to compete at the "fbs/bcs" level...

There are $700,000 reasons central took this butt whipping. We've played money games but without the long travel for less cash.

Richard's passing stats look like A&T's qb stats.
Don't care about who they played. He is suppose to be one of the best HBCU qb's. Should have had better stats even though they were projected to lose.

There are $700,000 reasons central took this butt whipping. We've played money games but without the long travel for less cash. I guess I'm just tired. Tired of our schools being broke. Tired of the HBCU dream always deteriorating and being deferred. Tired of other folk recognizing that we will do anything for a price. Tired of the realization that the Grambling football I saw as a kid is merely a shell of itself. Tired of being on a rollercoaster and not being able to establish a legitimate HNCU national football program. Finally, I'm just tired these FOOTBALL PLANTATIONS at these schools are using our best athletes to fill their coffers with little benefit to the Black comomunity that supplied their labor. It irks me to no end when Black casual fans of Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and now Colorado refer to those schools as "we". HBCUs then seem to be "happy" to get a net $300-500K out of their $100 million athletic budgets to play beatdown games. BTW, we play Georgia in six years. Lord help us.

It’s better than the $25,000 we’d get playing an FCS team as a D2 or NAIA school.

The Celebration Bowl champ losing 59-0 at the end of three quarters and squeaked out a touchdown in the 4th, not to mention NCCU beat our azz thoroughly As I stated last year, and I'll say it again this year whether folks believe it or not, central is not that good folks make them out to be. For 2 straight years after beating us that think they are the kings and then beat up on the weak MEAC. I was not impressed with them beating us, more disappointed we couldn't pass the ball on offense, or contain their QB. They didn't dominate us, they just executed where we didn't. If they were heads and shoulders above the competition, I would give them credit, but I'm not that impressed honestly...

But Richard's is for sure the real deal and will get drafted if he can stay healthy. Central just plays to their strengths nothing special but constant attention to detail and execution take what is given and keep the ball moving. But it's a long season so we will see .
