He's real close on a 6-9 kid from the midwest and a 6-8 kid from upstate New York. I've been asked not to release any names or info until signing day.

You're welcome Heretic. The rest of the MEAC better hold on next year. A&T will indeed be a major player in basketball once again come signing day on April 13th and raise a lot of eyebrows in the heart of ACC country. The days of Aggie dominance of the MEAC are about to resume.... big time!!
NCAA rules forbid me from discussing recruiting publically or releasing names until then (NON-CONTACT PERIOD).
And at Blue Death Valley.com, we abide by same rules that apply to the university and coaches.

I bet Coach Eaves is somewhere grinning back!

He's in St. Louis with the rest of the Louisville Cardinals this week to take in the Final Four . After speaking to him last week, Corbett Center will be packed the next four or five years with he and now Coach Bibbs running our basketball program.
He was quite clear that you cannot win in college basketball without quality D-1 players. Well, just let me say this. Folks, they are coming and coming in big time.
Jerry has really done his homework and you guys, even Doomsday, will be estatic at the results of this recruiting effort.

Coach Eaves appeared on last week's Aggie Sports Report with the "Handsome One" Billy Covington. There Coach Eaves mentioned that he thought he would be signing a 6'4" point guard and another guard who led the nation in 3 pt. shots made. I believe the latter was from out of Atlanta.
He also made mention of sigining some 16 year-old, Senior out of Charlotte who would be a major coup for the program. In addition, there was a big man he was hopeful on signing, but acknowledged there were other more prominent programs trying to land him as well. IMO, he seemed to be really excited about this year's class especially those two point guards.

www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgerenquirer/news/local/11546436.htmAlabama hires two women's basketball assistants Associated Press TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - New Alabama women's basketball coach Stephany Smith hired Saudia Roundtree and Lisa Nuxol as assistant coaches Monday. Roundtree, a former North Carolina A&T head coach, won consensus national player of the year honors in leading Georgia to the Southeastern Conference championship and the NCAA title game in 1996. Nuxol comes to the Capstone after spending the past three seasons as the head coach at Seminole Community College in Sanford, Fla. She led the Lady Raiders to a 59-30 record. "This is a very solid group of coaches that brings a variety of experiences to the table," said Smith, hired from Middle Tennessee. "I look forward to working with and learning from each of the members of this staff. Both of these women are really good fits for this program."

Good for Saudia. She's back in the southeastern conference and all the pressures of being the head coach are off her back.
