I understand our differences, but it still bothers me seeing Famu/FSU School of Engineering ranked #92 so far ahead of ours lol.

Well I guess it's as if our engineering school was jointly operated with NC State.

the rankings dont mention FAMU, neither does FAMU rankings mention engineering. Without knowledge of the program a prospective student or parent wouldnt know the engineering program is joint. Previously, the engineering school rankings listed FAMU...I wonder what changed.

You always have to consider the sources and criteria of these publications. Worthless in my opinionl!

Previously, the engineering school rankings listed FAMU...I wonder what changed. The scoring metrics are the same regardless, but I do feel Famu is scoring high because the F$U affiliation. What I can't figure out is if our joint Nanoengineering program with UNCG is doing anything for us in a positive light. jsnn.ncat.uncg.edu/

Probably not. We're the ones helping UNCG out in that regard. UNCG really got bout zero credibility for science.
If it was with NCSU it would be a different story.

The state of Florida has done FAMU so dirty. UF is the land grant and the liberal arts school in Florida not FSU, so under separate but equal FAMU was supposed to have everything UF had, but the transition of FSU from a women’s college to full scale university came at FAMU’s expense. FAMU’s med school (shuttered), law school (taken away then re opened), and the engineering school (merged).
I do agree that comparing our engineering school and their joint school is not the same. They have the resources of two institutions. There had been talk about separating the engineering schools, but i do not believe the florida legislature found a work around FAMU’s land grant status.

Sure they did. It seems to me they used FAMU's land grant status to enrich FSU with an engineering school.
