When I watched them against Tulane for five minutes they could've played with anybody. The other 35 they looked like sheeet. Booker fouled out and was just too light in the a$$ to take the pounding. He was also the only shooter on the team. The rest of them were just running around.
We need some b-ball players, not more athletes.

Yes, the game last night against Morgan State was ugly. If you were at the game you may have noticed that at times Shawn Booker looked like his head was not into the game. If you did notice that too its because he got word just yesterday that his older brother had died. He played in the game despite this news from home. I was told he was leaving for home today to be with his family. Prayers go out to him and his family.

Notwithstanding Booker's situation (which we -the media- were not aware of - and much to his credit, he didn't blame the Monday loss on his bereavement)...he's under too much pressure to be the best player on the floor. Anyone notice that Steve Koger took just FIVE shots the ENTIRE GAME on Monday?
I wonder if Booker played tonight. We scored 54 points, meaning we had 29 in the second half.
I will comment on recruiting later, because Kee has already gotten two here (we will sign a JUCO from Spartanburg next week).
The Sanderson 6-10 is a beast and with 6-9 Omari Williams and 6-10 Chad Webster, we'll be hard to shoot over. We'll look like Coppin State and will play a lot like Fang's close to the vest and defend like hell style.
THE RACE FOR THE TOURNAMENT SEEDING
We're 3-8 right now. 5th place Morgan, with a sweep over us, jumped over S.C. State by virtue of the 85-80 upset over the Bulldogs, so they now have sole possession of 5th place. We trail them by four games with seven to play.
6th place S.C. State does have the same four road games we have (Hampton, Norfolk, Del St. and Howard)...plus the two Florida schools at home.
Personally, I would like for us to get the 6th seed, even though we play on that Monday, we have the best chance to win if we play UMES. We don't want the 8 or 9, because that means we would play FAMU or Bethune-Cookman, two teams we don't want to see.
As far as the women go..the women are steadily charging for the fifth seed, as they are sitting just one game behind fifth place Howard at 5-6. We already have wins over Howard (6-5) and 6th place FAMU (6-6) and could sweep them.
I think that 10 conference wins should be enough to put them out of the sixth seed...the first time ever that they will not be in the play-in round.
Saudia controls her own destiny now...if she wins three of the next four games, we're in the driver's seat.
I believe that we will go 4-3 and finish 9-9 in the conference.

I went to the game (men's) last night. Shoulda stayed home.
The worst game I've ever seen A&T play. And I've seen some bad ones.
Booker did play. Not well (expectedly) but he did play.
I repeat, we need b-ball players, not athletes. We don't really have any ballplayers.

It seems that the men have hit a wall. When you continue to lose games even when the games are close you become emotionally and psychologically fatigued.
Of course you can bounce back especially when you are a college student but Coach Eaves will have to try a new tactic to re-energize the team.
I will be at the games this weekend but I (and I guess including the coaches) have no idea how the team will play.

It's all about matchups baby...
We cannot guard B-CC's Antonio Webb.
We cannot rebound with FAMU. Period.

Well it looks like it will be FAMU or BC in the first round of the MEAC tournament . I like our chances against BC. Now we can drop down to #10 if Howard can win two more conference games but I don;t see it. That why it so important that we sweep the Fla teams at Corbett Sports Center on the Feb26-28 week.

It's apparent that we have no post presence. We definitely have a scrappy bunch, but I don't think we can go deep into the tournament unless we can shoot a high percentage from the 3-point arc, which is very difficult! If we get to the semis I would consider the tourny a success.

I'd consider the season a success if we win the play-in game.

I'm not disgusted but I am dissapointed. I really expected us to win at least 8-9 games this year. We can't keep taking baby steps or it'll take us 4 more years to compete for an MEAC title.

I didn't expect us to win many games this year. Maybe that's why I think we have turned the corner. The play of this team is a huge improvement over last year. They lost a lot of close games this year, many in the last minute of the game. Last year and the year before we were out of the game at the half.
This team is deficient in height and shooters. They come to play and play hard on the defensive end, but on offense we have one consistent player, and the other coaches ain't crazy.
Fortunately the loss of seniors on this squad will have no impact. Unfortunately we are still at least a year away from being a contender for the championship.
