Does Johnson have any eligibility? I asked this earlier with no response. He has another year of eligibility left. Thanks for the response. Johnson will probably wait until he meets with the new coach to decide whether to remain at A&T, hit the portal, or forego his eligibility. I think we need him no matter who is hired due to how small we are as a team. We have zero depth at the center position and we can't count on the new coach being able to recruit multiple Bigs.

He is a forward weak side help defender. Due to losing 2 bigs he was forced to play center.

His skillset only allows him to play the center position at A&T regardless of height. He started all 25 games for UC Irvine at FORWARD. That is why I said at A&T. If Harry comes back, I am starting him at PF over Johnson. Therefore it is Johnson and Felton battling out for the starting center position. Things could change depending on new recruits and if Harry returns, but right now he is a center for "A&T". See UC Irvine roster for season 2021-22. They had the luxury to play him at the position he was best suited for without detrimental effect on the team. ucirvinesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/2021-22

In my old school thinking you have 2 guards, 2 forwards, and a center. Now we run 3Gs and 2Fs or 2Gs and 3Fs sets. Noone wants to be labeled a center these days even if it is their responsibility. Therefore A&T has no centers on the team and Johnson, Felton, and Morrice are all forwards that are forced to defend the low post or tallest opposing player.

There is never a shortage of high school senior recruits or transfer players available for A&T to offer men's basketball scholarships. We make lots of offers. The problem is recruiting talented players to commit, sign, and remain at A&T thru their full duration that can help us successfully compete year in and out against the conference top teams. Will the new coach be able to build a good staff and address any potential school/team issues that will help us do better in recruitment? We will have to wait and see.
