No Thanks on Broadnex barely 500 the last 3 seasons ….Nah Nope Yeah, I know that he's not going to get the job (probably a tad bit older than they want, anyway), but I still think that if you want a seasoned coach who can win instantly in this situation, he's the guy.
Either way, they'll get it right.

Mr. Watson from Miles may not be a "sexy" choice for the job given his relatively "low-key" existence and perceived sub-par level of competition that some members of the bourgeois class may hold against him, but the dude can coach. In terms of Miles not being ranked in their region, they WILL BE after today. ... ... Speaking of Coach Watson, a lot of folks didn't really like the idea of the Aggie brass hiring Don Corbett from Lincoln (MO) when he came in, but he turned out to be the right one.

That is the difference. If your going to drop into the lower divisions , get a coach that has a winning record and not just against HBCU competition.

I'll gladly take the Dr. Umar Johnson shade. At least commentary such as the one he provides forces us to self-reflect and truly evaluate whether are we operating in our own best interests or if are we dancing to the strum of the banjo.
And, mission accomplished. Although Mr. Watson may not apply, those who read my post recount that the G.O.A.T. came from D2 and we're still talking about the excellence he embodied, represented, and demanded TO THIS DAY (in my Deontay Wilder voice!), so miss me with the "a D2 guy can't get it done" narrative.
Bring it on...

Nah, Dr Umar is a clown.
That guy Watson cant get it done...25 years of coaching an no real accomplishments lol
I mean Corbett was a great MEAC coach, he never made it past the first round as a Div 1 coach.
Furthermore, there were only 7 - 8 teams in the conference.

It amazes me how we always revert back to our past coaches and what did or didn't do even win we knew the playing fields were not level in there era . That comment about Corbett was not necessary 39 , yet true but not necessary as is calling people Clowns. Truthfully I don't think that anyone on this forum knows anymore or less than anyone else and that's including the ones that think they know all 😆 Stop this BS and let the AD and Chancellor do there job because the clock is winding down. And they already have there coach waiting in the wings and it's not anyone even mentioned on this site . Just kick back drink 🍸 Orkin jerk Henny or some Tanqueray or even just smoke a blunt and wait for the news .

I went to the game. This League is Physical. The Reffs let them play. One can’t count on a whistle, just play and try to score.
We must adjust. Plus the League has Tall Players.
One slip, and you are down 10 points.

It reminds me of 15 seed ( I think) St Peters last year that Carolina beat. We’ve got to take it to a new level. And if the Coach gets recruited away, like Coach Ross ( Track), then so be it.
This League has players who have handles and will try to run you out the gym. Plus many Teams don’t beat themselves, and they hit their FT’s ( for the most part).

AGAIN, he was trying to work Division I miracles at Savannah State during a lot of those years. He did win a MEAC regular season title, winning 21 games and played in the NIT, which is a feat considering it was SSU.
Look...I'm not trying to sell him to you. I just think that he should be considered for an interview. None of us are making decisions on this hire.
