Can someone explain to me why the ladies have to look towards the coach on every possession? It seems like it makes some of the ladies play a little tentative. I keep waiting on Tucker to cut loose on the offensive end. She has moves and can finish with either hand.

I guess I’m gona have to lower my expectations for the women now.(they were already low for the men😂) W&M were also missing one of their starting guards btw …

Not considering conference wins, we are now tied with 3 other teams with 4 losses. If we don't correct the ship, we could easily drop from 2nd to 5th in the regular season standings. I am nervous. 😓

How do we have 6'3" and 6'4" Centers and are getting outrebounded and outscored? Because they just stand there and hardly ever go for the rebound. When it comes to scoring, it gets stolen away when they go inside. Does that stem from not having a post coach?

This is about effort and giving effort . Look somewhere down the line the players have to woman up and play aggressively especially in rebounding . As I was told by numerous coaches and as I would tell my players today. A coach can only take you so far you have to put the effort in to get the job done . Effort ladies Effort.

We just didn't match W&M's intensity at either end of the court today!

34-30 W&M at the half Getting out rebounded by the last team in the conf for rebounding…Also gotta defend the 3 better. I think I've figured out something... when you play teams in the CAA early in the season, they are focused more on figuring out how you play and how to beat you at the end of the season. Everybody we're playing now is playing us a lot tougher than earlier in the season. They've gotten better (against us) and we've stayed the same. We've got to either get better as the season progresses or we will end up in the bottom of the conference at yearend. I think our coach learned a lot playing in the Big South last season about the level of talent needed and the challenges at tournament time. Next season he'll have more talent and a much better prepared team. Can't wait to see what we do in the conference tournament and how we respond to this season. Everyone seems to be progressing and we're regressing. This is why we needed to win against Elon and Hampton. I knew W&M with Casey would be a problem. Towson, Delaware, and especially Drexel are gonna be tough. The recruiting class is good, but to me he needed to get another top player. Maybe a 2 or a big athletic 4. Robinson is going to have to hit big on Jakieya Thompson as pg. Also, his 2024 class is going to need to be stronger.

I went. A few people came out.
As for us, I think that we ran out of gas. Our ability to run makes the game easier. But I think that we are tired.
Also, We may have tried to force the ball inside too much.( with that double team occurring).
Our Bigs must recognize and pass. If the double team is hot and heavy. Pass to a cutting Acox or Tucker, or anyone.
This League is not a walk in the park. I like where we still are.
Dorsey and Tucker should keep the green light, to break down their player whenever they see fit. Especially when the shot clock is down to about 15 seconds.

How do we have 6'3" and 6'4" Centers and are getting outrebounded and outscored? We actually outrebounded them 35 to 29 and got more offensive rebounds 17 to 11. Don't get me started on the missed put-backs missed. W&M came in with a plan to push the pace and we couldn't keep up for four quarters. I don't know if the other teams we haven't seen yet (@ Drexel, 10-3, Towson 8-4) can push the pace, but we have been scouted, and now need to adjust and do our own scouting,

We are reeling a little bit now and need to relax, play aggressively and Aggie defense ….we do all those things and we’ll end up on the right side of winning….

What hurt us was there in and out play and there movement in the paint area on both ends of the floor. On offense they would shade screen in the paint for a big and when our defense would collapse on the ball they would kick it out and even quickly rotate the ball to the other side if the kick out was challenged for the open 3 or a player driving to the basket of the easy two . On defense they would always collapse two and sometimes 3 but the interesting thing is there players would position themselves in away that limited our bigs passing line angles . I don't know if it was design that way but if it was it was genius 🤔 . It made it hard for our bigs to kick the ball back out and even harder to get a clean shot off . Almost like what Elon and Hampton did . Rod needs to make adjustments on both ends going forward going forward to counteract what other teams are doing .

Don't forget that we were picked to finish 9th.
But pleasantly surprised and happy that we've done better than projected. Same with the men.
I believe both will finish above projection.
We'll see what happens.

We'll see what happens. Always said that we would not be finishing that low . I would like a top 4 finish for both but I'll take a top 6 for the men and top 4 for the women, but 2 or 3 would be better .

Also, they had 28 pts in the paint compared to our 24. You were right about the missed put-backs. Clark was 1-8 and Harris was 3-10. FG% hurt us 52% > 42% and 3FG 10 > 6. It's funny, under normal circumstances 42% FG% and 6 3's would be great. You guys are right, we'll have to adjust our play.
