Linear TV is (over the air). The Member schools get the rights. Think as an institution as opposed to a consumer about this. ESPN would rarely show HBCU's on their Linear platforms. A game here, a game there during MLK wknd ect. IDK how much ESPN pays it's mid-majors to stream their games. Now, I dont know how it works but: Can we buy time on The CW or Bounce TV or on the National but still obscure ( Byron Allen's ) Grio TV? Sell our Ads,- tied into our budding NIL Partners- and put our Product on the Floor along with our Brand like the Old ACC used to do.( sailing with the Pilot Life ins). The Games are at 2pm on a Saturday. The Women are on at 2pm on Sunday. Or possibly a thurs night game. Heck, Can The MBA Program in the business School buy an Ad (and with turn right around and keep the $$)? How is trying to sell to the almost 15k A&T Students/Parents? Of course Dame's chicken and waffles ect or the Local Furniture company, but how about Squeezing the Sheraton? Or offering an opportunity for the many on-line stores that is selling HBCU Gear. Or heck Promote our Athletic Capital Campaign when the time comes. I see Coaches Shows on Linear TV every Sunday ect in my market Raleigh/Durham/Chapel-hill. I know that we are not ready. But Man, look at who is advertising with the other CAA schools on Flo? We can do it on Regular TV, and with Our Brand! Imagine airing some Aggie Baseball Games (no shots of War Mem though), and High Schoolers watching and saying D@mn! I want to go there! Btw, I dont know how much of a cut the Member Schools get of the big contract. But Man...let's get our Brand out there and Grab this Market, and eventually Charlotte and maybe Raleigh/Durham by buying time. Personally, I believe the NC (A&T, Elon, Campbell and UNCW) and SC (CoC) schools should come together and negotiate a contract with linear networks within our footprint. Either Nexstar Media Group or Sinclair Broadcast Group...personally I prefer Nexstar since they have a station in Charlotte. Nexstar - Charlotte, Spartanburg SC (Greenville and Asheville too), Charleston, Raleigh, Greensboro and Greenville Sinclair - Greenville Spartanburg, Charleston, Raleigh, Greensboro and Greenville Big South had a partnership with Ingles and Nexstar to show football games. Personally, I believe the demand signal for CAA games including NC and SC schools will be higher than the BSC demand. The schools can approach Lowes which is HQ'd in Charlotte... Big South Corporate Partner Ingles will feature eight ESPN+ games broadcast locally and regionally on Nexstar Networks’ over-the-air stations throughout the Big South footprint. bigsouthsports.com/news/2021/7/28/big-south-announces-2021-football-television-package.aspxGood Points. I forgot that we had company in NC with Elon, Campbell ect- as opposed with the MEAC with only NCCU. ( I started to say that it's not enough air time to go around- with the game starting at the same times). Maybe split the proceeds, divide up the games (game of the week ect), and make sure that we air whenever we play one another - A&T/Elon, or Campbell. (side note, that GHOE Campbell game was Epic) Idk,

They are; that's why I posted that article here. This seemed like the most appropriate thread for it.

A new media rights deal with the Colonial Athletic Association will mean more money for the College of Charleston’s athletic department and more men’s basketball games on television. In February, the CAA signed a new four-year extension worth more than $10 million with FloSports and CBS Sports, providing the conference with at least 20 nationally televised basketball games. Under the new agreement, the College of Charleston will also be able to televise as many as 10 home basketball games with local linear TV partners. The Cougars appeared on CBS Sports Network four times last season, including home games against Delaware, Stony Brook and Towson. The College of Charleston will also receive about $100,000 annually from the conference. “FloSports allows us to produce and broadcast up to 10 home basketball games and we’re in the process of brokering a deal that will have statewide distribution.”The contract includes new requirements that will enhance the quality of broadcasts across all streamed sporting events. “Fans across the CAA think that FloSports produces all the broadcasts and that’s just not the case,” said CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio. “Each institution produces it’s own games and all 13 institutions have committed to produce the games at a high level that will include more cameras, announcers, graphic packages and instant replays.” Roberts said the agreement with FloSports and CBS was the best deal for the conference. “We looked at all the possibilities over all platforms and as a group, everyone felt like this was the best deal for the conference and individual schools,” Roberts said. “There was not another streaming or broadcast partner that would offer the flexibility that FloSports and CBS Sports offered us.”www.postandcourier.com/sports/cofc/new-caa-media-rights-deal-means-more-money-tv-exposure-for-cofc/article_023c0c24-ffde-11ed-9555-3bec9ac54c2d.html

Just another area where we are going to have to "learn", and then step our game up.

Is that $100K coming directly from this TV deal? Does everyone in the CAA get a similar amount?

Is that $100K coming directly from this TV deal? Does everyone in the CAA get a similar amount? It read as if it was $100K directly from the conference tv deal, I can only assume that every school would get $100k minimum. The contract on their linear deal hasnt been finalized so therefore the $100K isnt from that.

Every school in the CAA picks up a flat 100K out of the Flo/CBS TV deal. The local broadcast option is just additional gravy for the schools that can make local or regional broadcast deals on their own.

I would also like to know the answer to this question. Additionally, does anyone know the date of the CAA football media day?
