CAA Announces Comprehensive Media Rights Agreement With CBS Sports and FloSportsRob WashburnRICHMOND, Va. (February 9, 2023) – The Colonial Athletic Association has announced comprehensive media rights agreements with CBS Sports and FloSports. The CAA signed a new four-year extension with CBS Sports, providing the conference with more nationally-televised basketball games than ever before. Starting in 2023-24, CBS Sports Network will televise at least 20 CAA regular-season men’s basketball games in addition to the semifinals and finals of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship and the title game of the CAA Women’s Basketball Championship. Along with the 20 televised regular-season contests in men’s basketball, the new agreement with CBS Sports includes the possibility of additional regular-season games in men’s and women’s basketball based on schedule availability. CBS Sports Network has televised the semifinals and finals of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship since 2017 and has aired regular-season contests for the past four years. The CAA Women’s Basketball Championship game will be shown on CBS Sports Network for the first time this March. “The CAA has been a key partner for the past six years, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with this extension,” said Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports. “We look forward to showcasing more CAA games than ever before, and to crowning the champions of both the CAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.” For the rest of the story:caasports.com/news/2023/2/9/football-caa-announces-comprehensive-media-rights-agreement-with-cbs-sports-and-flosports.aspx

This is disappointing.. flo sports sucks .. in an era of nil deals schools like ours are already at an disadvantage.. now we are stuck w “come here and you wont ever be on ESPN (not even the conference title) but you will be on FloSports”
If you are a D2 or lower school flo sports makes sense. But if almost everyone is on another platform in D1 it does not make sense. The only people w a flo sports account are people in the CAA. There is not a team in the conference that an ordinary person would spend a monthly subscription to watch. Consequently the fan base for this conference is not a HBCU fan base so it’s not large enough for us to gain anything.
This does not make sense any way you look at it. Someone has to owe someone a favor of some kind. Because why in a world of maximum exposure you choose the least exposure.

Do we as fans of a school that is part of a "partner" conference get a discount of some kind? I have ESPN+ which covered me for the MEAC and the Big South. I'm only interest in CAA sports, and a few sports at that. I don't want or need access to everything yet another streaming service is offering. It would also be great to know if we have any upcoming deals with "local" TV.

Does flo sports have an app that allows you to watch games on smart TVs? It's in the Ruko app programs listing. Those listing should by in your smart TV app package.

Just out of curiosity, what does the MEAC and Big South media deal look like? How does it compare?

I'm not a fan of the overall functionality of the TV app, but I do like the ability to go back and watch all of the previous games.

Someone has to owe someone a favor of some kind. Because why in a world of maximum exposure you choose the least exposure. Austin, Texas and New York, NY (August 11, 2022) – The BIG EAST Conference has announced a three-year extension to its agreement with leading sports streaming service FloSports, the home of the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi. BEDN on FloSports featured more than 600 BIG EAST events during the 2021-22 season, which included Olympic sports and women’s basketball game coverage, while also showcasing original content such as “Shootaround” and “Fast Break,” the Conference’s weekly men’s and women’s basketball feature shows. The multi-year agreement also provides access to discounted subscriptions for BIG EAST member institution students and faculty. www.flosports.tv/2022/08/15/big-east-signs-multi-year-agreement-with-flosports/
