What is that $450k adjusted for cost of living? If the coaches make $450k in NYC or Boston that is equivalent to what in GBORO?

What other school pays their coach $600K www.forbes.com/advisor/mortgages/real-estate/cost-of-living-calculator/winston-salem-nc/?city=baltimore-md&income=450000$450K in Baltimore is equal to $397K in Winston-Salem Towson CAA Pat Skerry $445,000 4/6/2025 Receives $10,000 if he wins 20 games or $15,000 if he wins 25 games. William & Mary Tribe CAA Dane Fischer $225,000 6/30/2024 85. Geno Ford – Stony Brook Total Compensation: $375,000* $375K in Queens equals $252K in Winston Salem

Is it an outlier? How recent is the data you posted and what year was the initial contract?
I mentioned that my reference data was compiled back in 2019 for a reason. It is old and needs to be adjusted to today's market. Also, some of the coaches may be on new contracts or extensions.
Even if you are not the top coach in the conference, you must adjust to today's market which may mean a lesser coach current contract maybe higher than the top rated coach that year, similarly with quarterback contracts in the NFL. Russell Wilson contract is only higher than Patrick Mahomes because he recently signed his new deal when the market changed.
Each person should make whatever adjustments they think should apply when making their selection. Cost of living adjustment is fair in my mind.

I think you pay him a salary equivalent or up to the football coach but no more.

Of course, they don't have program. 450k in NY would be about a little over 180k deference then NC because the cost of living in North Carolina is about 45% lower than New York. Massachusetts,is 31% above North Carolina . What The College of Charleston chooses to pay there HC shouldn't have any effect on A&T . I think 400k with incentives and a four to five year contract will get us the coach we are looking for .

the salary of our coach should not depend on the salary of other coaches. instead, it should depend on the qualifications of the coach and a&t's budget. for example, i would expect that a coach being hired directly from the high school/aau ranks who has little to no experience coaching at the d1 level would be offered a lot less than a coach who has d1 head coaching experience...

Really do I disagree with many of your posts but certain market value have more to do with production first and cost analysis second. Russell Wilson was paid because of his production first and foremost and Market comparison second. Wouldn't you say that was the case ? HBCU's have had a habit of overpaying coaches that in a lot of cases never lived up to their competitive market value . Because if I'm not mistaken TV's base salary would have been in the top 6 if not close to it in the CAA and the top 5 in the Big S***it .

Yes, I totally agree that they both were factors with his production being #1.

NIL has added more responsibilities to coaching, so with most jobs as responsibilities increase typically your salary increases. Some coaches whom contracts were signed before NIL will need their salary adjusted. Like I said, everyone should choose a salary range based on whatever information or adjustments you see fit. I am curious on how the majority of folks on this board think about this question and later compare it to what A&T actually does.

Oleschoolaggie, you are correct that when considering what to pay a coach that his past experience and production should be looked at first, but I disagree with you that salaries of fellow conference coaches do not matter. Who is going to take a SEC HC football job that is paying CAA HC money? Would a new UNC basketball coach not be looking at how much the Duke or NCSU coach is paid? Of course they would in contact negotiations. Again, any good coach would have to satisfy the requirements you mentioned first to even be considered for the job. That to me is a default in this salary poll.

This is a different generation so you are sometimes caught off guard with what people are asking or doing. I heard someone bid $100K on some sand Tom Brady sat on making his retirement announcement. I know nothing about what these coaches are negotiating. Just pure speculation on my part.

That to me is a default in this salary poll. The key words are " ANY Good Coach " . Good coaches based off of production should commend equal pay if not more based on there level of previous competition and production. That's a no brainer which is also a conundrum that our AD and Chancellor have to deal with . We fans have to be patient and allow whoever the coach is to build and change the player/team philosophy and system of the old and recruit the right players to blend into his system .
