The schedule is in our favor the next 2 games to move up to at least a tie in 4th place in the CAA. Right now A&T is 6th, Drexel 5th (1 back), and UNCW 4th (2 back). If we beat UNCW in our next game and Drexel loses to COFC then we tie Drexel @ 5th and fall 1 back behind UNCW. The following week we play Elon which we are expected to win while UNCW plays COFC. If UNCW loses and we win then we are now tied for 4th place in the CAA with 5 games left. All remaining games will be tough but we are the higher ranked team in all but 2 games (UNCW & Towson). We do play again Monmouth which we lost to and Stony Brook which we barely beat. Delaware is an unpredictable team since they did upset Towson. We have to finish strong.

Just a small observation...Norfolk's pep band is currently at their game vs NCCU and they will also be headed to ATL this weekend.

I approach this with the One game at a time out look . On paper things look favorable . If the right team shows up . That has been the fly in the ointment for this team for me . Only If we play to our potential and take this one game at a time .

We need to play under control and with discipline. Let's take one game at a time and that everything will take care of itself. All of the typical cliches to let them know how important these last games are and they all (coaches and players) need to rise to the occasion. We can do this 💪.

we need to get woods back on track. fortunately, while woods has been "slumping" lately, horton has raised his game. we can't afford for johnson to get hurt and powell needs to get back on track as well and rekindle his game...

Since we are in the 2nd half of the conference season, I believe the opposing teams' strategy are to take the ball out of Wood's hands by pressing or double team to see if the rest of the team can beat them. Can or will our coach make the right adjustments? Also, you should not expect to get much offensive production out of Powell any longer. The shot attempts by the guards and small forwards are so one-sided now that the bigs get at a max of 3 shot attempts per game. If you are coming off the bench like Powell and Filmore then you can't afford to miss a shot otherwise you won't score that game. Look at my post for the Monmouth game on shot discrepancy.
I don't think our current playing style which we have settled into allows for much big man scoring. Now, the end of game in-the-paint scoring will be dominated by guard/small forward driving to the hole not low post scoring by "bigs". It looks like the main purpose of keeping the bigs in the game now is to help balance the rebound differences. I just hope they figure all of this out to continue winning.

That has been the problem for the past few years. Even under TV when we had bigs that could score not only in the paint but from 3 . TV had know idea how to use them .
