The Florida A&M Rattlers have added the West Florida Argonauts to their 2023 football schedule, according to an announcement by UWF. Florida A&M will host West Florida at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. The University of West Florida is a public university located in Pensacola, Fla., which is about 191 miles from Tallahassee. Two thoughts:
1. Stupid scheduling however;
2. The way people are viewing West Florida is the same way P5 Alumni and white college football fans view their teams scheduling FAMU and other HBCU Bloodbloods.

There's goes a potential FCS playoff bid. But maybe they're just shooting for the Celebration Bowl. West Florida was in the top 5 in D2 rankings also made it to the semi-finals in the playoffs. It's not like FAMU is playing subpar competition. |

Playing a D2 playoff team doesn't help with strength of schedule. The year FAMU made the playoffs Fort Valley was on there schedule. I thank it effects a team more if the loss to a D2 program. |

They didn’t make it last year and they beat FVSU 2021 they made the FCS playoffs and FVSU was also on there schedule. In 2022 they had two D2 games FVSU and Albany State on there schedule. |

FAMU didn't make playoffs in 22 because of a stronger playoff field , bad loss against JSU and the weakness of the SWAC vs Out of Conference competition.
