I'll try to keep it positive... Great heart & never say die attitude displayed by the Aggies. #3: Don't know why he is allowed to wear red shoes, & he was 4-14 from the floor, but had 11 boards. #4: In a groove, but still takes too many bad shots with the Fat Joe form & pushes the envelope on the video game dunks. WHEN he misses one, Uncle Phil had better sit him for a game! #31 also known as the "Program Changing Talent" contributed zero points in 8 minutes of play. Aggie Bench: FIVE BENCH POINTS! Not good. I see some of y'all are excited, so I will stay quiet. Wait & see attitude in effect 'round here. The funny thing is that if this was an MEAC game, none of these things would matter to us.

We'd likely have no more than 1 loss at this point in conference play too.

Drexel was 6-2 in the conference. They are now 6-3. They are one of the better teams in the conference. You are correct. I should have said continue to work against the CAA top teams. We also beat Hofstra another top team early in conference play which proved to some doubters that we may be able to do well in the CAA. This team keeps finding ways to win tough/ugly games no matter whether some disagree with their style of play. Will it last? I pray that it does.

After what I saw in the 1st half, I had many doubts. What did Coach say at half-time. Go Aggies Go! Here you go...but in basketball terms, A&T as opposed to Mission College and not about GHOE! youtu.be/0pn9TTTf4gI

Most of the basketball teams in the CAA are no better than the teams we played in the MEAC.
Good win.
However, still can't believe our players can't make a simple layup. Look at the Square on the backboard and use that to lay it in.
I guess kids today concentrate on shooting 3's and don't practice making layups and put backs.
Missing those bunnies and free throws gone come back to hurt the team against a better team.
We won though!!

hbcugameday.com/2023/01/26/nc-at-buries-drexel-with-second-half-rally/It was the worst of times for the men’s NC A&T basketball team. It was the best of times. Down 31-19 at the half while shooting 25% from the field, 1 of 7 from 3-point range Thursday vs. Drexel was the worst. Outscoring the Dragons 27-4 to open the second half was the best. Eventually, the Aggies led by as much as 20, at 60-40 with 6:20 to play before Drexel found some offense. They cut the lead to 60-50 with just over two minutes left but it was too little, too late in a 68-55 NC A&T CAA win. Center Austin Johnson had 10 points and a key three blocks as the Aggies’ rim protector on defense. The Dragons’ scoring leader, 6-10 center Amari Williams (14.1 ppg.) was stymied by the 6-9 Johnson. Williams, with NBA scouts from the Detroit Pistons on hand to check him out, was held to just four points on 2 of 7 shooting. —————————- Last time we had an NBA scout at a game?

Believe your eyes.
The Team has morphed into a team that No one wants to mess with. Once upon a time they relied on Horton’s 3 ball. Now is just another problem for teams.
They are Repping The East Side. They are not Hampton ( respectfully), Their time is now! The Emperor’s PWI clothes have been pulled off. The curtains of the Wizard of Oz have been pulled back. They don’t play nervous ball. They are now trying to go into a gym and burn it down!
The Staff clicked a switch and the Dawgs saw how good they were. They remind me of Our Football Team last year who just kept going and going and going.
Soon, it will be Senior Night and over.
They have a chip on their shoulders. The have been down to teams and have been up on teams. Now it may click for them in their own Gym. The Club was not packed, but was fun for the students.
Kam runs the team. Watson has the green light. Johnson is a Dawg! Finally a rim protector who will Dunk on you too! Robinson battles. Horton looks nonchalant, as a smokescreen. The Young Man is a powder Keg, and can put up 20 points, but he is letting the game come to him, he rebounds, he defends, and passes.
Dukes ( backup and can score/ run), Elliott( defensive and can score), Webster( defensive and is setting in with some scoring), Love( defensive stopper, will strip you, will dive on the floor, and will score).
This is A&T in a PWI League not trying to be “ anyone’s doormat “ ( H. Martin). With an interim Coach to boot.
It’s crazy.

Too may times we are negative about what we see. This teams battles every night. They don’t quit. That is a reflection of their coach. We blew out a good CAA team with a poor game from Kam. That was impressive. We have shown we will be able to complete in this league and it’s exciting. This team has an interim coach, less resources than most of the conference and competing at a high level. Again I am excited about the future of Aggie athletics.

Most of the basketball teams in the CAA are no better than the teams we played in the MEAC. Yes they are, but I said this for football and it applies to basketball just as much or even more. Steel eventually sharpens steel and our teams would adjust to whatever league we moved to. We wouldn't be doormats. Competition elevates play.

They have definitely elevated their level of play. And becoming aware they can compete and excel.

To say Charleston, Towson, Hofstra, and Drexel aren't better than Norfolk, NCCU, and Howard is foolhardy at best.
