Yeah when I saw him posting his stats, It made me wonder. Probably thinks he can get a P5 offer.

Dang that sucks , guess the IMG kid may get the start at LB I fully expect to see Sam get the start at Mike or Will this spring, teaming up with 13. Hopefully, we don't see too many more deflections like this, although you never know in this era. |

Yeah when I saw him posting his stats, It made me wonder. Probably thinks he can get a P5 offer. If that’s the case, it feels like Jacob Roberts is about to leave too. I think Roberts is loyal to the soil. We were his first offer, IIRC and he seems to bleed blue and gold. But with that being said, we had some FBS-caliber LBs starting for us in the past few years. It won't surprise me to see King land a P5 offer or 3. It's gonna suck losing his talent caliber. With that being said, recruiting LBs is something Coach Washington and his staff seemingly know how to do. |

Roberts has only a year left and has been starting since Day One when he set foot on campus. There's a bond between him and Coach Washington. Besides, even if you are an above average FCS player salivating for a P-5 offer, you may need to take a number this year. I would advise guys to seriously think it through after taking a gander at these numbers: There are now nearly 1,200 players presently in the portal since it opened on Monday. And the numbers will continue to grow. |

I think King's decision is largely being driven by the fact he will graduate in about another week or so. So much for that marginal student athlete theory.

Nothing marginal about that. Isn't King a true sophomore? Nope, he's not. He was redshirted his freshman year in 2019, then the Covid Non-Season hit (2020), then finally played both last year and this past season. He's a sophomore when to comes to eligibility but a senior academically, well on course on all his grades, and he'll graduate either later this month or early spring. |
