North Carolina A&T director of track and field programs Allen Johnson announced the hiring of Quamel Prince as his new cross country/distance coach on Monday.
"Coach Q brings an excellent work ethic and relatability to the athletes that will take our cross country and distance programs to new heights," said Johnson.
Prince will coach the Aggies men's and women's cross country teams in the fall and the men's and women's distance runners during the indoor and outdoor seasons. He comes to North Carolina A&T after spending one season with George Washington University.
Prince still competes professionally for the District Track Club of Washington, DC. In July, he was a 2022 Commonwealth Games Championship qualifier in the 800 meters (Birmingham, England). Ranked as high as 48th in the men's 800m, Prince is a top-100 runner worldwide in the distance.
