We should be pretty active in this year's early period. We didn't have a lot of seniors (14) to replace but a couple of unforeseen transfers popped up so we'll be very selective in how we approach this class since numbers won't be a priority, but quality will be.

As I stated on our podcast last month, it stood to reason we would certainly bring in another QB. Dual threat QBs will be the norm for us going forward which makes them suspectable to injuries. After seeing two kids go down at that position against SCSU last September, it should come as no surprise to anyone if we carry 5 or 6 into camp next fall. Is he a QB or athlete? He played DB too He’s coming in on offense, IIRC. I think he’ll get looks QB and WR, specifically in the slot.

Pure quarterback. You don't recruit those kind of QB numbers just to make him into a slot back. Barnette did his homework. Had full scholarship offers from Maryland, Duke, Marshall, and Campbell. But he and the Stallions are eyeing an elusive state title.Story by Larry Rubama, The Virginian-Pilot • Dec 1
Quarterback Kevin White Jr. is putting up Madden-like numbers this season. The Green Run High senior has thrown for 3,393 yards and 48 touchdowns. He’s completed better than 80% of his passes with only three interceptions.
He’s also rushed for 1,094 yards and 13 touchdowns.
That’s 4,487 total yards and 61 touchdowns.“I knew there was high expectations knowing my ability to both pass and run,” he said. “And knowing the athletes we already had here, I knew I was going to fit in and put up big numbers.” And he’s not done. White will lead Green Run (13-0) against Maury (9-1) at 2 p.m. Saturday for a berth in the Class 5 state championship game. Because of the expected large crowd, the game has been moved to the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. It’s a rematch of last season’s state semifinal, won by the Commodores. But White wasn’t the quarterback then. He transferred to Green Run from Menchville High, which also lost to Maury in the postseason last year. “I can’t explain it. Literally, we’re blessed to have that kid,” said Green Run coach Brandon Williams. “He’s a great kid — on and off the field. He does everything that’s asked of him.” White replaced Xavier Davis, who was first-team All-Tidewater and set the South Hampton Roads single-season passing touchdown mark. It has since been surpassed by White. He’s talented, that’s for certain.

This one should make Trues very happy. Sterling Wiggins is a 6-7 310-pound offensive tackle from AHS Mount Zion Prep Academy in Gaithersburg, Md. Also played at Woodbridge HS in Woodbridge, Va. before transferring as a senior. Had originally committed to Monmouth back in early September before flipping to us. Also had CAA scholarship offers from Maine and Stony Brook, Hudl highlights:www.hudl.com/profile/13812046/Sterling-Wiggins

Apparently, he was committed to Monmouth back in the Fall but decommitted. He probably won’t be the only kid we snatch away from a fellow CAA school.
