Had to look up Caleb Neal. Looks like he's the Assistant QB Coach and a Graduate Assistant

welp, i don't know too many kickers who are considered a "playmaker". sounds like a "skilled position" player probably on the offensive side of the ball...

If it is the kicker, that means Money Brown aint coming back this season. Money Brown will be our FG and KO guy when he comes back. Unfortunately, we might have to wait until next year but he is our guy!!!

I hope not . Your not winning anything if you can't control the Trenches on both sides of the ball. Screw all this skill position players, we need some heavy lifters in the trenches .

I hope not . Your not winning anything if you can't control the Trenches on both sides of the ball. Screw all this skill position players, we need some heavy lifters in the trenches . i agree, but only to an extent. of course the trenches are extremely important. but i swear, a "top notch" dual threat qb can "almost" single handedly make a losing team a winning team, and a winning team a championship caliber team. i mean, a dude who can pass the ball as well as the best passing qb's and can run the ball as well as the best running qb's, can "almost" single handedly turn a football team around. yes, he'll need help, particularly in the trenches as well as wr/rb's. but he doesn't need "the best" o-line in the world, average to "slightly" below average would suffice for a "top notch" dual threat qb if he has receivers who can catch the ball and rb's who the defense respects. take lamar jackson for example. not the best passing qb in the world, i consider him a "slightly" above average passer. but he's a "superior" running qb who can take it to the house from "anywhere" on the football field, so i consider him a "top notch" dual threat qb. that being stated, baltimore's record is 4-8 all-time when lamar is injured and 8-13 when he doesn't play for any reason. but when he's healthy, the ravens are 45-16 when he's in the lineup and baltimore does not have the greatest o-line in the world. but when you have a "top notch" dual threat qb who's an above average passer who can also take it to the house from "anywhere" on the football field, it changes everything. so if our coaches caught a so called "big fish" playmaker, i'd luv for it to be a "top notch" dual threat qb who already has some d1 "experience". imo, a player like that can turn a below average offense into an above average offense "almost" single handedly by himself...

That's if he stays Healthy. That's why you need equally talented lineman. The line play has always been the factor that separates the great teams from the good teams at all four levels and in the pros. That's why in my opinion the trenches are the most important factor in great programs. North Dakota state and South Dakota state are prime examples in the FCS, even in the SEC the line play is above most of the programs in the BCS. Skill players get their headlines but the lineman put them in the position to get the headline and stay healthy doing it. That's why in my opinion Coach Brown needs to focus on lineman and just add the right skilled position players, like North Dakota State and South Dakota state are doing.

shoot, i just hope that this "tease" that we landed a "big fish" don't turnout to be another episode of coach lee's recruiting. i remember during coach lee's era that there were announcements that we'd landed the #1 recruiting class only to later find out that many of them could not get pass our admissions office and never stepped foot on campus...

I agree if that's the one factor scenario, and if this was track and field where one person can make a difference. But this is not track and field but I do agree. I'm focused on need and A&T's most paramental need is inside defensive lineman. Bottom line if you don't have stoppers on defense 9 out of 10 games against upper tier programs, you're not going to win by just outscoring people regardless of who the quarterback/skill players are . Offense wins games but Defense win championships and it all starts on the D line .

Truthfully we don't have a truly experienced QB period regardless of level . A&T problem has never been the talent experienced or not , but it has been the preparation and execution in play of that Talent by the coaching staff.

so has the so called "big fish/playmaker" been revealed yet? this is why i don't particularly like "teases" that drag out for a long period of time. i mean, why even bring it up if you're gonna leave us in "suspense" indefinitely...
