I still don't understand where this zero tolerance, what gave you done for me lately attitude is coming from? In 3 seasons Coach Washington has 2 BCF national championships, 1 MEAC Coach of the year and an overall record of 24 - 12. Plus in 2018 he produced huge nonconference wins over ECU and fcs #6 Jax State. Hell, almost any AD in America would have offered a contract extension after that! Oh and don't let me get started regarding his accomplishments as our DC under Broadway! Folks be careful of what you wish for. Reminds me of when fans called for Bill Hayes ouster. How'd that work out? I am happy for Coach Washington. With the changes in the assistant coaches this gives him the opportunity to bring in some new faces. Sometimes new faces are good for a program. The CAA will be a lot different from the MEAC and the Big South. We all want to see a certain person coaching teams but we all need to trust the process. Instead of us being against Coach Washington lets support him and his staff. Rolling into the CAA in 2023 we need to have some stability in the coaching staff. If not, we will get steamrolled in that conference. When head coaches leave, players leave and a lot of programs suffer because of that.

How'd that work out? 1. Bill Hayes deserved to be fired for his actions. 2. Level headed people tried to explain that he wasn't going no where. And now it explains why some coaches left. They wanted their shot and knew it would be 4 more years before they would

As far as I'm concerned this is good news. At least he seems to be aware of where this team has to improve. I support Coach Washington and his extension 100%. Just to remind you, he said this every Monday during the presser that he was aware of they needed to improve, and actually re-assured everyone that things would be fixed prior to the next game. I never saw this happen. All I remember was us dancing on the sidelines, and losing 2nd halves of games.

“We could have won two more ball games had we been more disciplined than we were,” Washington said. “That’s another area of concern and one that we’ll be paying close attention to. Not really what I wanted to hear. He will have to do more than just pay “close attention to” it. I wanted to hear him say that he will get it corrected, and corrected now!

Our mission is to educate our student athletes and show them how to compete like a professional, so when they are professionals in their vocation of choice it's familiar. Coach Wash has earned his extension and let's give him the support and resources needed to deliver in the BS & the CAA.

Sports is not a charity, sports also teaches young men character. Washington accomplished neither of those last year, additionally the behavior of our players has declined every year since he has been in charge. Last year we were the inner city team from the hood that looked pretty in warm ups, talked trash, wanted to fight and lost to less talented teams due to lack of discipline.

The fact that people are ready to toss coach out after a sub-par year is astonishing to me. You already know all the accolades as a head coach and as a DC, but yet he has one 5-6 season and people act like none of the other stuff happened. I really hope they play well this season and shut some people up.

It’s not hard to have a better season when you don’t play 3 teams that beat you the previous year😂
Winning the BSC means nothing this year, the conf lost 4 tough teams.

Wow 2039, winning a CHIP means nothing? And you make the declaration that Coach Wash accomplished nothing last year. His efforts to build character in our young men missed the mark? It has been well documented the challenges he faced and let me know how many teams at any level went to a new league and dominated?
I was disappointed in our results last year as most, but I am not in the camp where Coach doesn't deserve an opportunity to bite at the apple a second time. And I definitely don't plan on predicting his demise in the CAA. Let's wait and see.

But why 4 years? If this upcoming season is a bad one, he will get the "New staff" excuse. If 2023 goes bad, he will get the "New conference" excuse. So theoretically, he has until 2024 to win?

919, there is another side of that coin. What if the "new staff" makes a difference? How do we know what the "new conference" will look like in 2023 with all of the realignment we are seeing? Who says Coach has until 2024 to win? Are we creating a strawman?

Why are we talking in circles? "He is who we think he is."
