Here's a different prespective on all the hype around HBCU football. It sounds like Bomani Jones has been talking to Chancellor Martin on the downlow. Check this out: youtu.be/DTNoAXLIUgM

Check this out: youtu.be/DTNoAXLIUgMWould you say that he's saying that we have to do one or the other? Academics and Campus facilities VS Athletics?

Not hating on an HBCU for jumping into the conversation, I just remember a time when that was us... florida state would be straight up "stupid" to play jsu, so i'm pretty sure that'll never happen. cuz if they did, they'd have nothing to gain. plus, if jsu kicks their azzes? that's a head coach firing waiting to happen...

Not hating on an HBCU for jumping into the conversation, I just remember a time when that was us... I feel ya, but we got to earn it...JSU gets a lot of attention because of who their coach is...they haven't beaten anyone that counts. Sure, they won the SWAC...but SCSU kicked their butts on national tv. They like to talk a lot, and look pretty...but at some point, you got to beat somebody.

Over the past 5 or 6 years the stars lined up perfect for A&T. A little post season game in ATL was created and Cowen put us on the FCS map. Our student enrollment took off when other HBCUs were declining plus additional winning trips to the Celebration Bowl made us the poster boy for HBCU athletics. Then Murphy's Law struck (Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong)... the pandemic, the move to the Big South, a coaching staff that couldn't adapt and major talent gaps. We may have survived all of those disasters but a new HBCU star hit the scene and we were no longer relevant. That's not permeant but our revenue sports have got to get their sh*t together.

coach prime is currently jsu's brand. if coach prime leaves, then that brand leaves with him. not so at a&t, no matter who leaves, "ghoe" and "aggie pride" will always be our brand. that being said, i've always felt that the koolest hbcu band names were the "sonic boom" and the "human jukebox". to me, those are the two koolest hbcu marching band "brands"... That maybe true but look at the cost and the drama he brings along with that. Nick Saban is now calling him out as a cheater. Weather its true or not is not the point. He bring to much unwanted attention good or bad. Although you can argue the NCAA looks at finding fault on HBCUs in general trust me they are looking at his a$$ even harder!!!! I don't know if I want a coach like that.

It's all marketing and publicity. We're not used to that and many times we shy away from it at all cost to our detriment. If we don't embrace attention then we really should not aspire to be a national university. Take the handkerchief off.

I tend to believe in this instance the juice is worth the squeeze. Innocent until proven guilty, so I will side with all the tangible positive things Sanders has done for JSU.
I know SCSU won the CB but in my other post I completely forgot JSU loss. Right now they're so hot that even in defeat they're still winning. 10-3 or whatever is not a shabby season and plenty of HBCUs would love to say that.
I can still be convinced Sanders is bad guy, if it is proven there was wrongdoing, however on the flip side there are those, that no matter what positive Sanders gets accomplished, they will still find a way to detract from it. Until then more power to JSU for taking over as the big dog in HBCU football and improving you're infrastructure along the way.
And for those, that already have their reply of "well they loss to SCSU in CB, how are they the big dog. I submit to you the Crimson Tide, they loss the title game to UGA, guess who's gone be picked to win it all this season, I'll eliminate one school for you, UGA. Alabama i as still the big dog, same applies here for JSU. If the perception is like this while losing CB just imagine what they get accomplished if they win it.

Him saying Deion Sanders and Jackson State speaks volumes… He only said Howard and didn’t tie it to a person 🤷🏾♂️
