People laugh.....like “Haha, I’m about to beat this n-word’s a$s.” Chris Rock ain’t dumb. He knew Jada has alopecia. Hell, I don’t even watch Jada’s podcast and I knew this. Chris Rock even did a documentary on black women and the their hair a few years back.
When you disrespect a woman’s man....IN FRONT OF HIM....you get dealt with. It may not have been the political way to handle things. It may be against the law. However, I don’t judge how a man protects the ones he loves when they are at the brunt of a medically demeaning joke.

One thing you can cool believe, if that was The Rock instead of Chris Roc making that comment, Will Smith would still be in his seat with his legs crossed

I didn't know either. But when you make a public joke about somebody's physical appearance you are really rolling the dice. "Playing the dozens" is one of the pillars of the Black comedic tradition. I know you remember Def Comedy Jam. Ever heard of Richard Pryor? Now imagine if everyone who got cracked on in the crowd during those eras caught feelings and wanted to come on stage and fight? Moreover, making fun of people in the audience kind of comes along with the territory at the Oscars too. Comics or hosts routinely and historically have joked about the insanely rich superstars in the audience and the "victims" of those jokes typically don't take themselves that seriously and are able to let the jokes roll off their backs in good fun. I guess we are at the point when everyone is going to catch feelings and want to run up when a comedian is making a joke now.

"Playing the dozens" is one of the pillars of the Black comedic tradition. And how many fist fights have started because somebody was just playing the dozens? lol Like I said, you never know how somebody will react to your comedy. Be careful or make sure you have some quick reflexes.

Be careful or make sure you have some quick reflexes. I would imagine very few in comedy clubs or at award shows. I ain't talking about you and your boys at school or in the neighborhood on the corner. These are professional comedians in venues where cracks on audience members are typical and in many cases, expected. "Insult comics" is an actual genre of comedy that has long been based in roasting audience members. Don Rickles made a living off of it. So did Joan Rivers. At any rate, this whole thing was so stupid and the people I feel sorry for the most are Questlove and the Williams family whose crowning moments were overshadowed and will most likely be forgotten. They were robbed of that and that sucks.

Will obviously has some pent up emotions inside of him . He felt he had to defend the same wife who humiliated him in front of the world by casually talking about her "entanglement" with another man .I really hope he hasn't set himself up for a real azz whupping ,cause we all know there will be other folk coming at him now that they know his weakness .

One thing you can cool believe, if that was The Rock instead of Chris Roc making that comment, Will Smith would still be in his seat with his legs crossed I think this is irrelevant.....and I'll tell you why. The Rock doesn't go around making cracks about a man's wife's medical condition. Neither does Terry Crews, Shaq, etc. Chris Rock is the only one who has attempted to make jokes about a man's wife that revolves around her medical condition. Most men with a sense of decency don't do sh*t like that. By the way, both men have apologized, which is good. I really hope they have a press conference or a sit-down where they can air their grievances and squash whatever beef remains. That's what responsible brothas do. If they do that, I (((can't speak for anyone else))) would give both of them pats on the back and wouldn't bring this episode up any further.

Man, they dont need to hold a press conference. lol.
Either shoot a fair one behind closed doors or just keep it moving.
There will be a new Hollywood controversy next week to occupy everyone's attention.

I believe for the betterment of both of their careers and reputations, it would be best for them to be seen together at some point in time. Even if it's just a picture of them shaking hands or chopping it up at a restaurant, a VISUAL SIGN OF RESOLUTION would go a long way. Since this all happened in the open, the resolution (in some shape or form) should also be in the open. That's my opinion only.

I'll say this...consider the blemish he now has as it relates to his place amongst the all-time great black make actors. I mean, he was on his way to being in the conversation with the: Sidney Poitier; Lou Gossett Jr.; Denzel Washington. His status has taken a serious hit in that regard. Second, I don't agree with him interfering with Chris Rock while working, he was doing what he was hired to do. Can you imagine someone running onto the set where Will Smith is filming King Richard and goes up and smacks because, a line that he said in the movie... That's out of bounds! Comedians tell bad/poor jokes all the time...this joke was in poor taste, I get it but, as mentioned by Oleschool, it cannot be handled in the fashion that he chose. Lastly, what are we to teach our children who look up to Will Smith...? If someone pisses your wife off, "Handle it with you hands!" NO WAY! They shouldn't strip him of the Oscar award because, he earned it. But, he is due some type of reprimand.

I'm asking this question for a reason....
Has anyone had a man disrespect your wife while in your presence? If so, what did he say and how did you react?
