Bad "school," worse conference, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't co-defensive coordinator anymore (though imo he should've been, just with Lantz instead of Washington). If the salary is a move up, where's the cheese we supposedly have lying around for our big CAA splash? Did we just let him walk? Sounds like a biased opinion, let brother feel good about his move up! No need for us to minimize his move. He'll obviously take what he's learned and apply it to his new position. We should be applauding the brother. By the way, it's NCCU his alma mater? Which part is biased? Or even an opinion? Probably the part where I referred to that collection of buildings as a "school." Otherwise everything else is factual. And I refuse to give one iota of credit to that place.

Wait, wait, what? Did A&T make a counter offer...I'm saying, any reason he can't be THE defensive coordinator If we are going to model our athletics admin, coaching, etc. after what we see in the CAA. There's no reason why he can't be retained and paid more. This guy was a bright spot in our program.
Does our current staff and admin think we can do better as we head into the season?
One could think of this as a move up...but so would being the defensive coordinator at a CAA program. Me thinks dude sees the writing on the wall. Thinks there will be a new coach and doesn't know where he will fit in the new staff...so he weighed his options. Jumped ship, and got a promotion and pay increase.
If our current head coach wants to keep his current job he will have to have a good showing next season heading into CAA football.

Well, this sucks but, I don't blame him at all. We all know Oliver, Gibbs and Coard has/had been the nucleus of our coaching staff for years. It's time the they get their flowers for what they've done, especially if they weren't gonna get them here at T. Washington has to be in a bad way now though. Who does he call on to fill his openings?

Thank you Coach. Many people wanted him gone ( after an injury prone pass defense year). Good luck to him.
Personally the defense- holding on with short fields behind them- made us look good last year.
Not to mention those legendary NCCU games with them having negative yards-or something like that, smh. ( brilliant for a Rivalry game).

The test will be if that "school" up 85 has us looking like we've had them looking the past few years. If they shut us down like we been shutting them down, we know the deal.
Either way I can't congratulate him for moving to that place. But congratulations for getting a raise.

Somebody said we should just have a little patience. Nothing to worry about. I'm too old to be patience...that's for young men that have plenty of time to waste! I'm like the aggressive vulture. ..damn waiting on something to die, we need to go kill something now. Those folks that are content to "wait and see" are also content to continue watching an undisciplined ineffective A&T football team. I'm not!

If a guy wants to go back to his Alma Mater and they pay him well that’s is no concern to me and I wish him the best of luck. My only question is this timing too late for us to find the defensive coordinator we are looking for? Is this too late to implement their system by next year? Or does it matter because Coach Washington is defense and his system stays no matter what. Someone help me here .. I’m a little concerned
Also I dont believe in lame duck years. These are grown men we are taking about here. They are competitors .. no one and I mean no one that is a man and a competitor will throw in the towel like that. I believe this is the case for both Hylton and Washington not to mention 50-60 grown men who are lifting weights and working their butts off everyday. Just don’t make sense. Besides since they threw millions away over out of this world covid policies I don’t think our budget can sustain a throw away year. Just my opinion.

One could think of this as a move up...but so would being the defensive coordinator at a CAA program. Interesting take. Well, he has proven himself in the MEAC...held his own in the Big South last year (with a hobbled team)...if he had another good year (which I think is very possible) in the Big South in 2022, and got the promotion that dropped the "Co" label. Then held his own or excelled in the CAA no telling what type of opportunities might have presented themselves. IJS, Central would have to dominate, and kick all kinds of azz for him to get the attention of FCS teams in leagues with an AQ or lower tier FBS programs. I can only assume he wants to be a head coach or position coach for a P5 or pro team. I don't see many opportunities like that happening for FCS position coaches...let alone out of the MEAC. Unfortunately, coaches in the HBCU leagues get passed around between the D1 and D2 conferences...but hey, that brother has to do what he thinks is best for him. Central is definitely on the come up in the MEAC, and it has to be a personal point of pride to coach at the same school you played at...especially if they want you enough to give you control of the defense and a pay increase. I wish him well...except against us.

It looks to me that Washington may call it a day after this season. Well, you if think Washington is planning to retire I would think he would make his announcement now. Plan a graceful exit and give the school (and potential candidates) a chance to line themselves up. He's had a lot of accomplishments...let the school sing your praises, and even have a change to interview and has some say on your replacement.

Coaches are making Moves they have no interest in going to CAA I really believe it something to do with it.Hilton needs to find CAA money to pay Coaches and Staff on CAA Level but I forget the Juice is not Worth the Squeeze. I REALLY believe Aggie Sports have Written a Check we cant Cash by going to CAA.
