I think membership has slowed dramatically It has, but also I think a number of people made a one time donation and called it a day.

I think membership has slowed dramatically It has, but also I think a number of people made a one time donation and called it a day. I hope not. I just assumed we were talking about 7k a month being raised. If most folks only made a one-time payment of $18.91 to our athletics program that is beyond apathetic and embarrassing and doesn't speak well for our hopes of fielding competitive teams in the CAA. I don't want to question or speak ill of anyone trying to survive in this economy, but $18.91 a month is less than $5 a week. Folks spend more than that at their local fast food spots. You'll never miss it. C'mon Aggies...do better. Of course it would help if we marketed this campaign more widely and aggressively.

I assume that most people on this site gave to A&T before the $18.91 program was introduced . Therefore for me and probably others it was an additional one time contribution. The question becomes, how many are FIRST TIME GIVERS and are they just giving $18.91.

Actually, I view the campaign as a rousing success. The math indicates that most of the people who have donated are giving a recurring donation of $18.91 or the equivalence of the annual donation of $18.91 per month, a one time donation of $226. If all 171 people who have signed up gave $18.91 per month , we would collect about $3,215 per month. Correlating that with the two months that the campaign has been in effect, only $6,439 should have been raised. Instead, in two months over $7,200 has been raised and it will raise at least $36,000 by years end.
I say, we take the win, I.e., applaud the results that we have accomplished so far and look forward to increasing success in the future.

This just hit me. Can we advertise the $18.91 Club in the A&T Today magazine and in the Alumni Times emails? Anybody?

Just so we can be clear, does this mean we are currently raising 9k a month which would equate to the fact that we have roughly 500 people signed up for the 18.91 campaign....or did we raise 9k for athletics that will be non-recurring on a monthly basis? It's already been mentioned in here that some folks only made a one time donation of $18.91. I'm just seeking some clarity as these numbers roll in.

I think it's actually a total amount that's been donated thus far including the monthly amount, which ain't great accounting imo if that's correct. Makes it look larger than it is. We really need to get to the point we have a large number of people giving that $18.91 (or more) and count the number of folks giving on a recurring basis and how much they give each month, and probably count it separately from the one-time donations.

No. This is total from inception including recurring donations. This reflects 176 people.
