Has the CAA support system helped Elon broker any local TV deals? Elon is not A&T. No two schools are alike. Elon does not have a national fan base and isn't anywhere in the same atmosphere of A&T. I'm not plugged in to CAA football, so I don't have the details at my disposal. I just read fan message boards like this from CAA football schools. The ones that have more than a small, local following have their own tv deals. I can also tell you that CAA football fans are looking at A&T now and commenting on game attendance, fan support, and the alumni support with envy. Their expectation is that A&T is going to jump to the top of the conference, based on those things, pretty quickly.

Where specifically did they commit to that? You post your clips from the BOT meeting and I'll post mine. “I think this is indeed the right decision for our university and for our student/athletes,” Martin said. “Will we have to raise more money, make more investments in athletic facilities? Absolutely. We had plans to do that anyway even in our efforts to remain in the Big South.” hbcugameday.com/2022/02/17/nc-at-ask-for-approval-to-move-to-caa/I am safe to assume that when it comes to facilities, improving our visibility on TV is one of them and it's part of the commitment. Of course, you're going to feel how you feel based on your perspective. So it is what it is. We'll just have to wait and see what occurs.

Can you provide an example of a comparable school that has a local TV deal and what that deal entails?

Has the CAA support system helped Elon broker any local TV deals? They have one with WMYV My48 for their home games.

Just like in the Big South all we have to do is close the talent gap which we seen w basketball recruiting can happen pretty easily. Also just like the Big South we have the most capacity out of all schools in the conference for the reasons you mentioned above .. hopefully this year was a tune up and we can take the time to tighten up these chaotic programs and compete at the same level as our talent.

So they didn't mention anything about TV deals in the BOT meeting on Thursday. When you start getting loose with the facts that is when you inadvertently create misinformation. Please try to separate your personal hopes and wishes with what was actually discussed.

But whatever...

Now, we need to investigate what type of revenue ELon was able to generate from this local TV agreement. Were they able to sell ad blocks?

But whatever... That is or should be the conferences responsibility to provide TV exposure for there conference's programs and institutions . That's one-thing that I can say about the Big S***it they broadly supported and marketed the conferences programs and institutions . This has a every man for themselves vibe to me . With the ones that can broker a deal to appear on TV will and the ones that can't appear when they can on a weekly basis . Flo Sports is not the answer and just local and regional networking doesn't really benefit our National marketing strategy at least it shouldn't .

Flo Sports is not the answer and just local and regional networking doesn't really benefit our National marketing strategy at least it shouldn't . I actually agree with this. I was just pointing out the reasoning behind the FloSports deal. FloSports was conference wide, but it allowed schools to also have their own linear TV deals. The consensus, at least amongst fans, is that FloSports is hated by all. So whatever the logic was in the beginning, if the fans hate it I can't see it being renewed. The agreement runs out soon, and this expansion should give the CAA some leverage in moving to ESPN.

Ad revenue can be pretty significant for a station. It would be nice if they had a revenue sharing agreement with the school.
For example purposes, an ad runs about $35 per 1000 impressions for a 30 second commercial. So if Greensboro has 50,000 looks on Saturday that would mean a 30-second commercial would cost $1,750. If we assume 50 slots per game and therefore up to $87,500 to share each game, it could be some real money.

Q: If you can take a look out five years from now, what would you see? What would be successful for A&T athletics? Martin: "When I look at athletics, I see successful student-athletes in the classrooms, maintaining their eligibility, graduating and doing other things. And potentially playing at the next level. "We'll see a sprinkling of competitive championships across a variety of sports in the Colonial Athletic Association, not just in football and basketball but in some of those Olympic sports, like track or golf or tennis, for example, where we've got to continue to lift up the sport. I'll see soccer and potentially some other sports that we've brought to this campus. "You'll see new athletics facilities on this campus or substantially transformed facilities. And you'll see a sustainable budget that allows us to ensure that we maintain our competitiveness and continue to build on our competitiveness. We would have far exceeded the objectives we set for athletics in five years." greensboro.com/sports/college/a-t-chancellor-harold-martin-on-the-cost-of-being-competitive-in-the-colonial-athletic/article_09e25076-950b-11ec-99e6-cb6d0bf80162.htmlHe is serious!!!!
