A&T Baseball Plays Cross-Town DI Rival UNCGLAST MEETING: The Aggies last met the Spartans in downtown Greensboro at First National Bank Field, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, and were bested, 8-2. The last time A&T met Davidson was on May 2, 2019, and the Wildcats beat the Aggies, 12-2. Winebarger threw a third of an inning and gave up three runs on a pair of hits. WHO'S HOT: Cameran Brantley was on fire last week for the Aggies. He turned in a .571 batting average with eight hits through four games, including two home runs, five RBI, and five runs scored. He also drew six walks for a .700 on-base percentage. Junior left-hander Peyton Winebarger is also on a roll. He has settled into the Sunday starting role for the Aggies. He pitched a scoreless seven innings in a series-determining Game 2 against UMass-Lowell, giving up just two hits and striking out a career-high 10. His efforts earned him Big South Conference pitcher of the week honors. AGGIES OVERVIEW: The Aggies got back on track last weekend against the UMass-Lowell River Hawks, securing their first series victory of 2022 by winning two out of three. A&T exploded offensively, spreading 33 hits across three games, including a season-best 17 in Friday night's win. They sit third in the Big South in team batting average at .286. However, the key to their shift in play was hitting in key situations, something that head coach Ben Hall stressed all week. They responded emphatically, with 12 of their 14 runs in Friday's game coming with two outs. Over the four games as a whole, A&T hit .314 with runners on base. A&T has four eligible batters hitting above the .350-mark, with two of them (Brantley & Seaton) at-or-above the .400-mark. Coach Hall is now in his eighth year at A&T and has an overall 143-195 (.422) record. SPARTANS OVERVIEW: The Spartans are 3-4 on the year, but like the Aggies, are coming off their first series victory of the season, taking two of three from the Appalachian State Mountaineers. They are, however, 1-3 on the road with opponents outscoring them 44-22 away from home. League head coaches picked UNCG to finish fifth in the Southern Conference (SoCon). Senior Austin Parsley and junior Hogan Windish garnered preseason all-conference honors. Last year, parsley was 8-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 62 strikeouts. The SoCon named Windish player of the week earlier this season. He is batting .414 with a home run and 10 RBI. Second-year skipper Billy Godwin is 30-29 at UNCG. ALL WINS ARE GOOD WINS...and we got two today!
We're hitting fairly well (17 hits in today's DH), but we also had 7 errors. We've really got to cut those down significantly.

Aggie Baseball, Bowling, Track and Field and Softball...hell if I had known we were going to start winning in all these sports, I would have moved closer to Greensboro. Now with gas prices sky high and me on fixed income I can't afford to make that 90 mile trip every week. Are any of these sports televised?

Bowling sometimes shows their events on their Facebook page. Sometimes Track & Field gets shown on ACCNX when we participate in ACC events like Clemson.
