The best way to support the BGMM students and staff is to become a member of the "Blue & Gold Loyalty Foundation." "The Blue and Gold Loyalty Foundation supports the North Carolina A&T State University Department of University Band which includes: the Blue and Gold Marching Machine (BGMM), Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Brass, Woodwind, and Percussion ensembles and Our Stage Band the “ Aggie Rhythm and Blues Revue”. Our support of these groups helps produce amazing musicians and scholars. The Blue and Gold Loyalty foundations mission is to develop A&T band students by providing cultivation and empowerment to band members through financial support for educational endeavors, musical development, and mentorship." www.thebglf.com/aboutIf you want to keep up with the latest Blue & Gold Marching Machine videos, staff and band member profiles, A&T history and fun facts, sign up for "The Loyalty Letter!" Recently I asked alumni and friends to help me raise donations to complete a $25,000 A&T Band Endowed Scholarship I had established several years ago. I needed an additional $3,100, Well, they came through! Thanks to their generous donations, we reached the $25,000 endowed scholarship goal!
In just 9 days, they helped reach that goal! This $25,000 endowed scholarship will provide on-going financial assistance for A&T's Band Students and annual income for our beloved North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I want to personally thank the following generous donors*:
- Phyllis Cunningham - Phyllis & Earnest Fulton - R.R. Williams - Gabrielle J. Befort - Lawrence C. Williams - Michael & Catherine Simmons - Larry D. Butler - Roderick L. Wilbon - Vermelle B. Wilson - Demetria R. Tucker - Shirley A. Young - Jean Jenkins Jackson - Mary G. Eaves - Martha R. Thorpe - Willie M. Farrish - Karen M. Gibbs - Angela K. Brown - Harold R. Carrillo - Brooksie B. Sturdivant - Keith K. Barron - Lakisha P. Lee - Don L. Robinson - Milton & Drucilla Pittman - Edward F. Fox - Gary G. Packer - Aaron & Lori Fisher
* List consists of those donations made as of October 18, 2022. I will update the list as additional donations come in.
I also want to thank Ms. Tamisha Keith, A&T's Director of Gift Planning and Mrs. Phyllis Cunningham. Ms. Keith provided me with regular updates regarding donations and Mrs. Cunningham provided me with encouragement and great fundraising advice.
Once again, thanks to everyone for your help! I am forever grateful!

I know some Band alumni are peeved. While practices are supposed to be closed, Marshawn Lynch was at practice and getting down with Cold Steel.

I know some Band alumni are peeved. While practices are supposed to be closed, Marshawn Lynch was at practice and getting down with Cold Steel. And some "band alumni" need to go sit down somewhere and just chill out. Just because you marched in the band at some point doesn't give you lifetime "special privileges!" My bet is these same "peeved band alumni" have done very little to support the BGMM since they left campus. And marching in the "Alumni Band" at Homecoming doesn't count for crap for the band program. It doesn't help fund the BGMM program or provide one dime for band student's scholarships.
