Washington won't be fired after this year, but if he has a repeat of this year in 2022, who would you want as the new HC hire?

Just to throw in some numbers, Coach Washington's salary is $295,000 for this season. Conversely, His OC's salary is $60,000 and it appears he hasn't received a raise since earning the role.

I didn’t realize the OC made so little. That definitely probably eliminates who I was thinking about. He would probably take a pay cut to get the chance as a head coach, but I can’t imagine any OC he would want to bring in would accept that salary.

This is my first time in this forum also. Clearly we need to pay the coordinators more than what they’re currently making. Is this the current pay scale for HBCU coordinators or is it just us?

You get what you pay for, usually.
In this case we're only getting what we've paid for this year. In prior years the coaches were giving us waaaaay more than we paid for. If you look at the staff almost all are very experienced and have a long track history of winning football. I honestly wouldn't want to break that up over one disappointing year. Three or four? Maybe, provided we're paying them more at that point.
With what we're paying them and the loud noises from the fan base I wouldn't expect all of them to hang around and wait in the first place. Most of them have options and have been loyal to us despite having said options.

My choice would have been Tee Martin. I felt he would probably take a pay cut to get a chance at being a HC, but after finding out what we pay OC & DC, I doubt he would be interested.
Offensive Coordinator at USC
WR & QB coach at Kentucky and Tennesse
Passing Coordinator at Morehouse
WR coach with Ravens now.
National champ QB at Tennesse
