Periodically, I hear references to Moore Gym as historic. After reading this excerpt from an A&T article, we need to make it permanent:
Moore Gymnasium, one of the oldest and most historic buildings on the campus of North Carolina A&T, received a new look in 2012. Moore Gymnasium became the permanent home of the North Carolina A&T volleyball team in 2012. Previously, volleyball's home court was Corbett Sports Center. But with the growth of the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball programs, it became almost impossible for three teams to share one building.
Therefore, Moore Gymnasium, which was rarely being used for A&T varsity sports for 35 years, got a makeover to house the Aggies home volleyball matches. Unlike Corbett, the Moore Gymnasium floor is designed to be a volleyball court, which means it includes all the lines necessary to conduct a Division I match. In addition to a new floor being constructed, Moore Gymnasium now houses a team room for North Carolina A&T volleyball. Moore Gymnasium is estimated to have a capacity of 1,200.
A&T volleyball's transition to Moore Gymnasium adds to the history of the facility. Some of the greatest names in basketball have honed their craft in Moore Gymnasium. Former Aggie players such as Al Attles, Joseph Howell, Joe Cotton, Elmer Alston, James Outlaw and James Sparrow are just a few of the legendary names that graced the Moore Gymnasium floor.
Some of the opponents' names aren't bad either. Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, an NBA Top 50 Greatest Player, played at Moore Gymnasium against the Aggies as a Winston-Salem State Ram. WSSU's Clarence “Big House” Gaines, Monroe's legendary Hall of Fame coach, also made his presence felt at Moore Gymnasium along with N.C. Central's Sam Jones, an NBA Top 50 Greatest Player, and Johnson C. Smith's Fred “Curly” Neal, the legendary Harlem Globetrotter.

we can add a fresh coat of paint on it too. They showed it in the intro to the volleyball game vs garner Webb and it definitely looked historic.

Moore Gym is historic. I saw many great players perform in that jammed pack cracker box.
Coach Cal Irvin could recruit some of the best players in the country, mainly from up north.
I remember his coaching battles with Big House Gaines and the performances of Earl "The Pearl," Monroe, Bobby Dandridge and many more elite players.
But what I liked most about Moore Gym was taking PE classes like swimming from Coach Willis, wrestling from Coach Hornsby Howell and other PE classes from Coach Mel "Big Ten" Groomes.

Hell, if Duke can name their building Cameron Indoor Stadium, we can officially call our place Historic Moore Gymnasium.
I love the idea.

My mom talks about the Mothers Finest and Parliament concerts till this day. There was another show that happened during an ice storm that seemed pretty epic.
