Whats up with all these schools hating on us? From our move to the big south, to us trying to engage in fellow hbcu conversations. It’s like we’ve been shunned and dismissed. And it goes beyond athletics. Maybe we can post facts in this thread to fully understand why we left the meac so other can also understand when we explain things to them because I know it was a lot more then just playing better football but, most students and alum don’t.

It has very little to do with athletics. Most of our alumni and students are not football fans. They are A&T fans. There's a difference. As a fan of A&T, I only want to do three things: Have fun with fellow Aggies, talk shat to the other team's fans, and win. The actual details of the sport doesn't matter as much.
Fans of other HBCUs are pretty much the same. They have to talk shat to us about something because it's in the blood. So if we don't play them anymore, they talk shat about not playing them anymore.

I think the title "HBCUS HATING ON THE 'KINGS'" sums it up in a nutshell. A lot of us are arrogant as sheeet and it annoys people. From the "greatest" homecoming on earth to the consistent lack of humility we as alumni often show people are going to absolutely love to see us fail.
That being typed, a lot of people see the move the BS as selling out for whatever reason. I see it more as it's way past time hbcus left the comfort bubble and competed against white folks. Unfortunately we're not doing the best job of it on the gridiron right now, but otherwise we're hanging in there.
Over time if we interact with other hbcu alumni with a lil less high-mindedness and discussed the move on a rational and mature level, the rational and mature alumni would understand. The ones that want to continue to be immature have shown you who they are, so don't interact with them.

Comes with the territory of being King when King is obtained by beating and doing better than the opponents.

And I agree with you 100%.

We are obnoxious and I LOVE it. But so are Howard, FAMU, and JSU folks.

The KSU loss real brung all the hate to the light, as if any of their programs could even be in a position to possibly beat a decent/ranked fcs opponent. I try to tune it out but it’s hard when fans and alum engage and bring the ignorance on my timeline

Honestly if we could turn the program back on the proper path and make the playoffs (I'm not expecting it) then they'd be pulling for us come playoff time. Best bet is to ignore it.
Nobody likes an obnoxious a$$. Can't go from arrogant to playing victim.

A lot of them keep saying we left for because we felt it would be more "exposure". And lets be honest, Hampton went through the same thing when they left, even by some on here lol

Some folk can't be educated, so in those cases meet ignorance with arrogance and have fun with it. It's really all about talking smack. Sometimes we can back it up, sometimes we can't but that doesn't stop us from talking. As the kids say, "We different."

As I tell my kids it's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
"Talking smack" ain't really something anybody who's more than a few years removed from undergrad should be involved in imo. But I'm boring nowadays.

A co-worker of mine literally just sent me an instant message at work out the blue. I forgot I'd leaned on her to send her son to A&T. He eventually transferred to T from UMBC. She said a) he said he loves it and b) he said the football teams is doing well. She said he met some buddies who go to the games together.
Sometimes it's all about perspective.
I was at a soccer tournament a couple weeks ago in my A&T gear and two different dudes came up and mentioned our track program. The first guy was Black and obviously was a track guy (he just had that look) and we chatted a few minutes. He said he kept up with the program and it was great. The second guy was a White guy from central PA who said "NC A&T? GRRREEEAT track program!" We chatted for a minute and he said they should've sent the whole track team to the Olympics and let them run lol.
We would've had that exposure without the move so whoever came up with this "we moved for exposure" narrative has his head up his a$$ and/or his a$$ for his head. You gotta ignore people with that level of ignorance. It's communicable.
