I hate the Triple Option Run. Our goal is going to be to stop the QB because he’s been going off as of late😬.

Looks like we're the top rated hbcu according to Sagarin: sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htmWe're ranked 170. FAMU is ranked 184, Jackson State 186, and Norfolk 188. As far as the conference goes Kennesaw is ranked 125 Monmouth 158 Campbell 163 So we have work left to do in conference. If we manage to beat Kennesaw we should jump Campbell and perhaps Monmouth no matter what they do. We'll still be behind Kennesaw though. I only caught snippets of the game (kid was in a soccer tournament) but from what I've read we're not currently prepared to be on the same field with them. Playing a triple option team starts with one thing: DISCIPLINE. Not to mention they'll just go for it on fourth and anything under four and throw bombs and wait for the PI calls. If we have a kitchen sink on offense, this is probably the week to throw it. Yeah, we're still impacted by our affiliation with the lower rated MEAC (on field performance) for those ratings. Should change after this year. The discipline issue will be more related to our DL & LB corps, with some still related to our DBs, since they run the ball overwhelmingly. The problem we have is that we haven't seen how disciplined our DLs & LBs will be because we haven't faced a team that runs this much and in this way. Got my fingers crossed that they'll adjust and maintain for one 60 minute game. Good thing is we've got quite a bit of depth (9-10 DLs & 5-6 LBs), shouldn't get very tired and can replace those that aren't playing with the discipline we need. That whole going for it on 4th down is another thing to deal with and hopefully they drill it in the players heads that they'll do it often so our players aren't surprised and lose their mental edge. Yep, offense will need to be good. That said, it's where I believe we win this game because we're so multiple/diverse (good running game, good passing game with lots of receivers and a dual threat QB).

NONE of our players have played against it at the college level...at least not while being on our team. I believe the last time was 2003 against Wofford in the playoffs. That said, I believe this team is more talented and deep than that team (both offense & defense) so we should do better and win. #TackleTheFullback #HitTheQBHARD

From those coming down, just know that depending on traffic and where you are coming from in the city, Kennesaw State is about 30-40 minutes outside of Atlanta.

Hippin Hopz is DOPE and they just opened a new location right up the street from my house in East Lake....but I am curious as to why they are having a pregame brunch, tailgate, AND finale brunch at Forks and Flavors. I assume this is a Black owned spot, but I also assume that most folks who are coming down will want to kick it in Atlanta while they are here and most will not want to drive back up to Marietta for a finale brunch on Sunday. Again, that ain't the quickest of drives and there are PLENTY of Black owned spots in the city that could provide a great finale brunch atmosphere.
No hate on Forks and Flavors (never been there)...just thinking about convenience and travel times relative to the city as opposed to the far northern suburbs. I can only assume that the alumni chapter believes that most folks will be staying near the stadium.

Either we win this in a shootout or they will kick our butts worse than they kicked Jacksonville State's.
I will be very shocked if our young Freshmen and Sophomores put it together on Defense and we win this thing by a 14+ margin. The only saving grace is our offense is vastly better than Jacksonville State's and we sell out to stop the run. The bad news is we sell out to stop the run and our DBs haven't shown they can cover one on one consistently.
Tackling is slowly improving though.

On a lighter note, their DBs don't appear to be big and their front 7 size oddly mirrors what we have. However, they do have at least 8 DL that they can rotate, pending injuries.
This screams 38-35 or 42-38 for the final score but who knows.

I watched a few videos of KSU and noticed they only put the fullback behind the qb for blocking purposes and swing the wide receivers out in case the qb decides to pitch it . I think if they can get into the backfield to disrupt the handoffs as Georgia Tech did we should be straight . Going to be a great game

The key to stop the triple option is the defensive line and linebackers . D-line must must get a push into the backfield and the linebackers must fill the holes a 4-2-5 defensive scheme can shut down a triple option team . Watch the HIU and KSU game on ESPN . D-LINE did there job the linebackers play is what hit them . KSU is a Old School ground and pound clock control team and well DISCIPLINED. Even when behind they stick to there game plan run and run with the occasional pass mostly to there TE to secure the first down that's how they set you up to catch you sleeping before going deep 😆 But do not by any means over look there Defense which is ranked #1 in the Big S***it but they can be beat deep but you have to set them up for it . The TE play and passes to the RB will be Paramount in this game .

I don't think they can stop our offense, we'll just have to wait and see. Hey did you see our offense in the second half of last week's game? We stopped ourselves! Not saying we will make the same mistakes against Kennesaw State but I'm hoping we don't.
