Dear Billy,
We appreciate your service to the university over the years BUT, it's time for yo azz to go. You can retire gracefully if you want to but leave now. Our football stadium has not consistently been maintained and our field itself was a complete embarrassment. I'd be surprised if Truist Bank will even make their annual installment. You and your decision-making have been a barrier to our pursuit of excellence in the most visible of ways. You have expressed publicly that our playing field should be grass because we are an agricultural institution, but you have not shown the ability to maintain a plush green field for an entire season. You have also shunned the idea of reaching out to experts in the region that have demonstrated the ability to do so at Division I institutions. In addition, you have rejected the idea of artificial turf and in a Pridecast challenged anyone to give you a reason that turf is needed. Well, turf wouldn't be needed if you knew how to do your job, but since you can't as evidenced by the condition of the field on 9/25, which was our very first game, the turf conversation is a viable one.
As the Facilities director, you are also responsible for the general upkeep of the stadium. You have failed in that regard to be an advocate for scheduled maintenance and painting of the stadium, bathrooms, and concessions. Our AD shouldn't have to explain things that you should have already taken care of. Also, isn't the sound system a part of the stadium, too. We appreciate the new things, such as the track, the athlete murals, weight room, but as someone said on this board it's like having on "a new suit with cornbread turnt over shoes".
Please get out of the way and let us move forward with athletic facilities as it is the "front porch" of the university.
Sincerely,
A Fed Up Fan
