Nice mild talk by their fans initially about attendance and bands but later turned to point spread. They believe that our long layoff and first game rust will be a disadvantage. Hope they are wrong but I am nervous about how we'll play.

That conversation got tense and fact. I like the facts guy. He's like look they can put up points. And then the other guy talking about how great the Furman D is. Bwhahaha. Yea they bout to be in trouble
Apparently they don't understand how deep we gonna be at this game lol. It's been 2 years. We are coming

After watching us lose to Morgan two years in a row I realize that prognostication and braggadocio ain't our best look.
I'm just hoping to play a clean game with minimal mistakes and let the chips fall where they may. Barring that I hope we play ugly and eke out a win like we did against Jacksonville State lol.

I expect us to win this game. We are always ready in our opener. Home or away.

Yeah not expecting any type of rout, but agree we are always prepared to start the season. It's a good thing to have an option team first, we have plenty of time to game plan and get our assignments together.

Hate option oriented teams, still remember the Aggies getting blown out against Elon in 1999.

Good QB decision-making will be the key to the Aggies having a winning season.

I don't like to pick us because when I do we generally lose, but if we can generate any sort of steady offense Furman will have some trouble unless they throw the ball. Given our history we're going to sell all out to stop the run. Option or not they won't see more than 120 on the ground.
Of course we all know there will be burnt dbs and missed assignments in pass defense lol. If they connect enough times we'll have a problem. I honestly would expect them to get close to 300 in the air on us. The big question is will those 300 contain td passes or end in field goals?
Meanwhile Furman's defense will have one mission, and he's around 5'11" and 210 pounds or so, and probably runs a legit 4.4. If Fowler can connect enough to take the heat off Martin then we'll have a good day.

It will serve notice to the rest of the teams on the schedule.

Hopefully with this being "somewhat" like a homecoming for Fowler he'll play lights out.
