How does this conference fail to schedule A&T vs Campbell in our inaugural season in the Big South? From a football standpoint, we are the closest 2 BS universities to one another in the whole conference....yet we don't play them. I think that's a big misstep, with conference officials failing to realize how this game could attract many eyeballs in this region.

I can see both teams traveling well to both campuses. Plus their coach seems to be a little cocky…they’re the type of team you love to beat!

I agree. Next year we’ll have to make road trips to Pittsburgh and New Jersey. It would be nice to only have to make one of those trips per season!

I agree that would have been nice, but for this year I think they wanted to make sure we played Kennesaw and Monmouth. The rest of chips fell where they fell.

C'mon......ain't no way in the world North Alabama, Robert Morris, and Charleston Southern should be on our schedule.....OVER CAMPBELL. Hell, I'd rather see us play Campbell than ole tired Hampton or Gardner-Webb. It ain't asking too much to ask for the BS to put Campbell on the schedule EVERY SINGLE YEAR....especially in our inaugural year.

My feeling is that they probably scheduled the matchups with an eye to give the conference it's best chance at placing the conference's 4 best teams into the FCS playoffs.
One way to help that notion along would be to limit things to where everyone doesn't beat up on one another.
The scheduling, barring major upsets, would most likely end up with A&T, Monmouth, Campbell, and Kennesaw with only 1-2 BSC losses individually thereby putting all these teams at the very least to the 8 win mark on the regular season.
Based upon earlier interviews with the commissioner, eight wins should get you into the 24-team playoff field.
Just a thought.

It's also is really a smart insurance move especially when you factor in the rise of the Delta variant coming this fall.
If the infection patterns remain similar to what they were last fall and this past spring, a lot of people won't finish their seasons or will be hamstrung to the point the playoffs will be an afterthought.
If your conference can complete the season relatively intact playing at least 7 or 8 games minimum with 4 teams in the top 20... well just do the math.

That delta virus has got to be SLOWED DOWNED/STOPPED or we won't see much of any football in the fall. Keep your fingers and toes crossed while stroking your rabbit's foot. This virus is getting very serious out there, and especially with all of the nutty conservatives and their pseudo scientist selling disinformation.

It was said, in another thread, that the reason we're not playing Campbell is because they already had some games scheduled that didn't allow them to play us.
Don't know if it's true or not.

It's not just the conservatives, liberals Democrats , Independence and Republicans it's about misinformed individuals Black , White , Asian and Brown . With a large following of Black people that are refusing to get vaccinated also and they all are not conservatives . Our people are playing a part in the BS also .
