So accurate and fast testing for Covid-19 isn't "pressing?" Okay. not until football season starts... So, you really don’t think it’s a good idea to have your conference’s members from utilizing better testing procedures starting in Fall Camp for the fall sports? Wow.

Imagine the 4x400 relay team being disqualified for a false positive and not being able to advance to the regionals. We’ll never know if the basketball team could’ve gone on a Cinderella run...
And I know, they could’ve qualified via their time at another event, because I’m sure that will be the counter argument.

not until football season starts... So, you really don’t think it’s a good idea to have your conference’s members from utilizing better testing procedures starting in Fall Camp for the fall sports? Wow. the protocol is not for "fall camp". the protocol is for the "football season" which doesn't begin for the meac until conference play begins 3 or 4 weeks after the regular season starts. conference play for most meac schools don't start until "october" which is "3 months away". they've got plenty of time to hammer out "new" covid protocols. matter fact, it wouldn't be wise at all to establish new covid protocols "immediately" because the status of covid is "constantly" changing. why issue "new" covid protocols today when its likely they would have to be changed before conference play starts? just doesn't make sense. so again, there is no "pressing need" to address covid protocols "immediately" and ya'll know it. but because ya'll feel "disrespected" by thomas, ya'll are being "unrealistic" about the urgency to implement new covid protocols...

Someone should tell the SIAC they wasted time issuing Covid guidelines in July.

I don’t know if it was a planned dig since they still haven’t addressed what happened or what, but the article doesn’t put the MEAC in a particularly favorable light. Thomas’ response was garbage too. Unfortunately that will be part of his legacy along with losing four schools in a short timespan. I don’t know that the celebration bowl can cover the negatives.
IMO, Hilton pretty much went scorched earth with this article coming out just after Thomas’ announcement of his retirement.

Come on...let's not let the train roll off the tracks here. Oleschool, there is no need defending something that indefensible. The Commish continues to prove his incompetence time and time again and this is another example. You are talking about folks being in their feelings about being disrespected but, you seem to be in your feelings about leaving the MEAC and it's on full display. Lastly, it's clear your disappointment of us leaving but, it shouldn't allow you to stoop to similar lows of the conference leadership by justifying poor leadership.

Someone should tell the SIAC they wasted time issuing Covid guidelines in July. first of all, the siac doesn't have "pressing issues" that the meac has. secondly, the siac "did not" issue covid guidelines relative to "testing" which was a&t's issue. instead, the siac issued a "VACCINATION" policy that does not address "TESTING" guidelines. but good try nonetheless...

The SIAC just added Edward Waters this week. They can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time.

So that I am clear... those of us who believe that as conference members at the time we were well within our right to expect a response, however detailed or not, are emotional. But everything you have stated is factual, devoid of emotion, even though you have publicly stated that we should not leave the MEAC? I guess it is ok to disagree because I certainly cannot sign off on your premise. Until the next topic...

personally, i strongly support the meac but at the same time i can't help but be a bit "apprehensive" about what happened with that covid test. nevertheless, why would anybody expect the meac to respond to that letter in a timely manner when the school that's requesting the response just left the conference "high and dry"? HAMPTON LEFT THE MEAC HIGH AND DRY, We tendered our resignation in a timely fashion and in accordance with the MEACs Bylaws...

They can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time. ewu "applied" to join the siac. how hard is that for the siac? the siac didn't have to desperately seek out new "pwc" members since no hbcu's were available, now did they? are you suggesting that its more difficult to be minding your own business when a school decides to apply for membership to your conference? as opposed to suddenly having to seek new fcs membership for the survival of your conference from a pool of schools that don't include fcs hbcu's and you also have to find a new counsel of presidents chairman and also a new commissioner while also trying to keep your current membership intact? if you really think those issues are "equally" difficult, then you're fooling yourself...
