He said it all in post race interview. He said "Terrible, just terrible. Lane 8, the heat. I didn't come here to just show up." He's had a heck of a year. Hopefully he'll get a reprieve in the relay. Yes he did and many more ahead of him God Willing .

Maybe I missed something on the subject of this post - Olympic Watch. All I have been reading since Ross did not run a smart race is why he ran a bad race.
Damn, Trevor Stewart won an Olympic Medal and I don't see no thread about him doing something special that many people dream of doing.
Maybe, I missed a thread or something. This special young Aggie is not getting his due. Damn!!
OUTSTANDING JOB TREVOR!!
I dig Ross and I hope he rebounds and put his Big Boy Pants On in the next race. But damn, give my man Stewart his due!
He deserves it. What he accomplished ain't easy.
Ask Saabman and OSA.

Aggies should consider everything after your NCAA run as gravey...I enjoyed every minute of the NCAAs like you did- loved that little woman runner...disappointed yes but watch Ross run under 44 leg on the 4x400 GO AGGIES ( Will never say that again)

Rookie Mistakes like this happen . Learn and move on . He will get his gold on the Relay he drew the absolute "worst" lane to run in (land 9) and had to expend all of his energy coming down the stretch just to climb into 3rd place. i felt he should've leaned into the finish line to pull out 3rd place, but honestly i don't think he had anything left in terms of energy at that point cuz he had to use it all just to climb into 3rd place. i also feel he may have suffered a little fron ncaa "burn out". its very difficult to "peak" at the ncaa's and then maintain or improve that production thru the olympic trials and the olympics itself. but the good news is that he's still "very young" and can makeup for it in future olympics and he can still win a gold medal in this year's olympics in the 4x400m relay...

Right! Plus side is that Paris (2024) is 3 years away instead of 4

I watched him getting coming out of the Block's. As soon as the gun sounded you could see by his reaction that he was not mentally prepared , because he didn't explode out of the blocks and attack the Curve like he normally dose . For me this race was more so a lack of mental drain more so then a physical drain . I don't think people realize how important the mental edge vs the physical edge in competition . You can not perform adequately if you are mentally drained , it will not allow your body to react . The mind can push the body to respond, but the body can not push the mind to respond . That is one of the hardest things to get young athletes to understand . I just think that Ross was not physically drained but I do think that he was mentally drained . I also think that he will bounce back with vengeance on the Relay and in his next open 400m race .

So does anyone know what event Akeem Sirleaf is running in? I though it was the 200 meters, but I didn't see him on the start list
