Can someone confirm that Tyler Maye is actually returning for the 2021-22 season? I was looking at the roster on the athletics website and his picture was up. However, he is still showing up in the transfer portal. Having him back only helps our depth but that would put us at almost twenty players. Is there a maximum number you can have on the roster beyond the 13 scholarships?

Is there a maximum number you can have on the roster beyond the 13 scholarships? No. But you can only have 15 eligible to play each game.

For this COVID year, my understanding is that you can actually carry more than the usual 13 scholarships if you're retaining your own graduates. In this case, we're retaining Kam as a graduate. I don't know that Tyler finished, but the provision would allow us to keep Tyler on scholarship... if we chose to.
