A quote from a brother on Twitter: "That would be cool for that program but talent would be wasted if he went there" That's the mentality we're fighting against. Tell me something NEW . That has always been the case LOL.

To be seen among the top dawgs from GA, SC, and NC is a huge win for our program. Recruits and media see that. Even if he doesn't pick us, the fact that he didn't have to put our name in the mix is huge. All we have to do is keep winning and they will eventually come. I’m sure we have some help, AD, Nance is a AGGIE, he played baseball under BIG TEN and with Al Holland.

A quote from a brother on Twitter: "That would be cool for that program but talent would be wasted if he went there" That's the mentality we're fighting against. I know that's the mentality of some, but not all. The key to changing this mindset is winning. Whether you are a 3 star or a 5 star all top athletes want to be a part of a winning program. If we weren't as successful on the field with winning CB 3 times, beating ECU, Kent State, JSU on national TV we would not get this look. If we did not put our best in the league from this winning (Tarik, Bam, Parker, Mac) this kid would not put us in his top 4 period. Trust, if he did not think he could make it to the league from A&T, he would not put us in that group. IF WE WIN, THEY WILL COME!

A quote from a brother on Twitter: "That would be cool for that program but talent would be wasted if he went there" That's the mentality we're fighting against. That's a really difficult mountain to climb and to be honest, it's likely we'll never get to that mountaintop within my life time at least. To the casual fan this is just a football decision, but today these types of decisions are bigger than football. Some of these large programs, particularly in the South, look and feel like football plantations with Black assistant coaches being used as "overseers" without them realizing it. It reminds of the episode of "The Underground Railroad" on Amazon Prime where the South Carolina town presented itself for the "betterment of Negros" but was really was a plot to destroy the race. I know I'm oversimplifying but as the curtain gets raised and the hoods come off, you realize more and more as Michael Jackson said, "they don't really care about us", no matter what they say or do. How dare UNC deny tenure to the author of the 1619 project and think that's OK when ALL prior professors in that position have received tenure immediately. Then, they have the audacity to aggressively recruit Black football players as if they're the greatest school on earth. Please. www.nytimes.com/2021/05/19/business/media/nikole-hannah-jones-unc.htmlI wish the young man covering and success in life whatever his decision is and to be sure it's a good fit for him.

Here is the narrative that I would love to see A&T adopt but I am sure they would never publicly embrace this stance....but hell....I'll say it. Three of these schools are not like the other. UNC, UGA, and Clemson were all founded by white supremacists and slave owners and then perpetuated those ideas for years to come. Hell...just last month UNC wouldn't even grant tenure to a Black woman who won a Pulitzer Prize for telling America that slavery and white supremacy is at the very core of our national origin story. www.nytimes.com/2021/05/19/business/media/nikole-hannah-jones-unc.htmlHowever, out of those four choices, one of these schools has been at the center of the Black liberation movement since its inception. It was the catalyst for the student activism that powered the civil rights movement. Its produced world leaders in every facet of life, its produced world class athletes who have succeeded at the professional level and Black lives have ALWAYS MATTERED there. These predominantly white institutions only care about mining our kid's talents, exploiting them for millions of dollars, and the majority of their boosters and fans could care less about the communities that their African American athletes come from. Simply put.....It's time for our kids to start coming HOME.

Very interesting. I think he would be a great addition for us. My money is on Clemson. UNC has several local D Lineman who haven't became stars yet and that will hurt them My nephew is the Grimsley & Clemson grad and plays for the Bengals . He is very close with the young man as is some of my family members. I think Clemson also . Saab with that being said, it makes it even more rewarding and uplifting that we are considered along with the trio, I mentioned Nance and Al because we have history that kids don’t know, Nance can talk tell his students about Al’ s World Series ring, and along with our current football pedigree, pro representation, and national champion track teams we are proven to send young men and women to the next level! I congratulated him on Twitter, and pointed out to him that he claims to be the best in NC, he can go someplace else and be recognized, but coming to us he can be a unicorn.

"I just threw them in there"?
I hope he doesn't mean it the way it sounded. That quote could do more harm than good even if his intent(exposure/respect) is noble which I think it is. Also, who knows how the actual question was phrased. We didn't hear it. Reporters also always ask leading questions to solicit a certain response.

Yeah, he was saying all of the right things up until that line. Without the proper context it sounds like he was giving us a backhand compliment by throwing us a bone and giving us a look for "other" athletes. Let's be honest, its a long shot for us to get this kid so my hopes were never high, but that didn't sound right.

He was giving us a shout out and in his mind he feels as though he is doing us a favor. I am not going to bash the young man. I am sure he had good intentions but the words he use was not the best. Its all good. I wish nothing but the best for the young man.
