Well, to say I won't attend games because, we moved to another conference is the equivalent of taking your ball and going home in the park.

Naw, it’s somebody’s right and absolute privilege IMO. If you aren’t interested in the competition then why spend the money to go to the game? That decision may be based in emotion but it’s also logical.

that's solely your "opinion" cuz you have no way whatsoever of knowing why recruits choose a&t or don't choose a&t. but i do know for a "fact" that it would be very "disingenuous" for our leadership to use “come home to build up your own” as a sales pitch for black recruits... I made that pitch...not our leadership. If you may recall, I wrote it as a direct letter/appeal to Travis Shaw: I know these recruits and their family members and friends read these boards. So that was MY pitch and it was specifically and deliberately designed to: 1. Quote Nikole Hannah Jones who just recently spurned Chapel Hill because of the racial hostilities she experienced. 2. Appeal directly to whatever political consciousness and sensibilities that Shaw or his family may have or had concerning the distinct differences between the PWI and HBCU experiences. I am certain that at the end of the day, a large part of what appealed to Shaw was the stark differences in resources that UNC will offer him. As I mentioned much earlier in this thread, top tier FBS schools have a level of material resources and program "bling" that we simply cannot duplicate and that has played a critical role in seducing many of our Black athletes towards those institutions since the 70s and 80s. It's the lure of playing on national and regional television every weekend, the massive crowds that worship you, and the over and under the table benefits that come with that territory. I get it. Best of luck to the brother. I have serious concerns about our move to the Big South. Most of it is connected to giving up the highly visible platform that the Celebration Bowl presented to us and the tangible benefits that came with appearing in it for 4 out of 5 years. Without question it elevated our brand and unless we make very deep runs into the playoffs, I fear that we may end up languishing in FCS obscurity and our fans won't be happy about that as we watch HBCU teams lead off college bowl season on national television. No one really cares about the FCS playoffs so its hard to beat your chest unless you win it all. Hopefully we will. And much like you, I also have little affinity or interest in the institutions that make up the Big South and clearly we have more in common with our HBCU brethren, historically, culturally and politically. But brother for you to continue to suggest that A&T has completely forsaken its identity as an HBCU simply because we have changed conferences is laughable at best. What is even more disconcerting, is that you have seemed to abandon your support for our team by constantly reminding us that you can't get excited about the upcoming season and that you won't be attending games, and implying that we are "white." To each his own, but c'mon brother. You're doing too much right now. Maybe you should just take a hiatus from posting for a while instead of constantly beating us over the head with your flawed assessment of our legitimacy as an HBCU.

Maybe you should just take a hiatus from posting for a while instead of constantly beating us over the head with your flawed assessment of our legitimacy as an HBCU. While I agree with your point the facts of the matter is that all too many black folk are not in synch with all that is happening in our society and its impact. Time will tell about the move to the Big South. We are and pray that we remain an HBCU. I've argued that preeminence is meaningless with uplifting the surrounding communities. We cannot nor should remain an island in this city given the poltico-economic challenges and its relevance. For instance crime is rampant in this city as though are trying to imitate other urban areas. I think that we have the social capital as well as the intellectual fortitude to have a say and impact in this city only if there is the will. Quite frankly some in leadrship are actuall the misleadership which contributes to too much confusion. Why would a leadership suggest building a recreation facility when on campus housing is a major priority? Finally the challenge before all of us is to listen to Dr. King's Mountain Top sermon when he knew that he was gong to be executed by the government and govern ooourselves accordingly.

I'm just wondering, how hard is A&T recruiting in there own back yard ? Outside of this youngman Grimsley High School has the number of players with D-1 talent. SCSU has offered a D-lineman and a Safety on that team already . There are a number of DB's in Greensboro and the Gilford County area and a number of lineman on both sides of the ball . Hell A&T should not have to look outside of the triangle to find talent . I'm just wondering are they taking advantage of it 🤔

To limit your recruiting area to Greensboro would be suicide. You have got to get outside the area more

When you have D-1 talent in your own back yard they should be your first choice or option, then state wide , and then out of state . Don't read into my statement Read it the next time 😆

Best Football is in Charlotte, followed by Triangle and then Triad. It's plenty of diamonds in the rough in NC, just have to look.

Last 5 years A&T has gotten better at recuiting the Triad. They ignored a lot of kids who wanted to play and ended up at other MEAC schools and played us with a chip on their shoulder
