I didn't realize the Olympic Trials spans a 10-day period.

One other thing Ross should be on the Olympic Coaching Staff for 2024 s Yes he should the man is a legend. Like he said we don't have the 200M stadium or the resources that big time program have yet we still produce talented players that will compete year after year. That's coaching period!!!!!!!!!!! If harding could had wom his matches we could least finish #2

I can remember how proud I was when Wilmar Rudolph from Tennessee State ran in the Olympics. Hell, if one of the A&T runners actually won a gold medal, I may have a heart attack!

Bob Beamon attended A&T ! It's possible. When I was in the ROTC at A&T I was the responsible for the "Athletes Platoon." Bob Beamon was in that platoon his Freshman year at A&T. He transferred out of A&T and the rest is history.

When I was in the ROTC at A&T I was the responsible for the "Athletes Platoon." Bob Beamon was in that platoon his Freshman year at A&T. He transferred out of A&T and the rest is history. Say what?!?! Beamon was in AggieLand! For two years . Back then A&T was not as invested in Track and Field like NCCU , Saint Augustine, FAMU , TSU , Texas Southern , Prairie View and Southern University. Hale a number of us ran Track at A&T when we didn't even have a functional track just an oval dirt silhouette we have to jog over to Dudley to train and jog back . Space laid the groundwork Ross took it to another level !!! When he was attending Jamaica High School he was discovered by Larry Ellis, a renowned track coach. Beamon later became part of the All-American track and field team.[vague] Beamon began his college career at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, to be close to his ill grandmother.[3] After her death, he transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso, where he received a track and field scholarship.[4] In 1965 Beamon set a national high school triple jump record and was second in the nation in the long jump. In 1967 he won the AAU indoor title and earned a silver medal at the Pan American Games, both in the long jump.[5] Beamon was suspended from the University of Texas at El Paso for participating in a boycott of competition with Brigham Young University because of the Book of Mormon's teachings on race.[6][7] Fellow Olympian Ralph Boston became his unofficial coach.[8][9]
