Very thorough article, but it wouldn't be the N&R without several negative references to offset the good.

Nice article! Didn't know we were paying coach that much. I know we have our limits, but at least we recognize his value (even though it's not a revenue generating sport). Just hope we can hold on a little while longer!

Very thorough article, but it wouldn't be the N&R without several negative references to offset the good. When I read the article, I didn't look at it as a way to offset the positive. Rather, I looked at it as a "look at how far they came."

i didn't necessarily care for the reporting of our "doom and gloom" years, but its a part of our past and we therefore must "own it". that's why i never shy away from acknowledging our "27 game losing streak" when rivals bring it up. we've got to own that too.
when you own all of the good along with "the bad", it totally "disarms" rivals who try to use the bad against you...

Very thorough article, but it wouldn't be the N&R without several negative references to offset the good. What negative references? I won't point them out specifically because overall it was a good in-depth article about the program, but read the article again. This time as you read ask yourself, "Was that fact really necessary?", "Were character flaws were implied?", "Was previous on-the-track success accurate?", etc. Can we have a purely "feel good" article about A&T? Probably not. I heard a sports reporter say the other day that every reporter is looking for a "gotcha". That's what gets articles published. Maybe that's why Naomi Osaka just decided to take a break from the media. I'm probably overly sensitive, but that's where I am right now. Good luck to the team in Oregon!

They do that because "smut" sells...people/we eat up (buy) negative more than positive.

"I'm probably overly sensitive, but that's where I am right now." All of us need to be "overly sensitive" in today's environment. We need to be looking out for our own self-interest because no-one else will. Like you, I'm always looking for a purely "feel good" article about A&T but rarely see one.

According to the article, we are 8 scholarships short on the women's side. Can you imagine what Ross can do once he is fully funded? Wow!

I do not believe his program is not fully funded. I believe that reflects not replacing athletes who unexpectedly left this season as a result of covid or just decided not to run anymore.... If for no other reason, Title IX is not going to allow you to to have that type of inequality.
