T&F Programs Send Record Number to Regionals
The Aggies will send a program-record 27 athletes to the east prelims.



EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will send a combined 27 athletes to the 2021 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla, May 26-29.

The 27 athletes the Aggies are sending to the east prelim breaks the previous combined record for both programs of 24 set in 2018. The Aggies will send 13 men and 14 women to the event. The 14 women are the most the Aggies have ever sent to a regional eclipsing the old mark of 11 in 2018. The Aggies sent 13 men to the regionals in 2018, tying this year's mark.

N.C. A&T will have a combined four athletes competing in field events, another school record for the east prelims. The Aggies sent three field event athletes to the east prelims in 2017.

Too bad the way the NCAA schedule works , 200 meter runners can't run the 400 ( too close together). The 4x400 lane selection seems to be a random draw lane selection . Think our men's team got lane 3 ... ..

It looks like 11 Aggie men advanced to the Quarterfinals. The road to a top-5 finish at nationals is well intact but we gotta make sure most of them qualify on Friday.

True.

I was honestly surprised that Trevor & Randolph ran as fast as they did in the 1st round. But we've talked before about the length of the season and the peaking process. Maybe this was a warning shot from us to the rest of the field.

Another thing... Neither Trevor nor Randolph ran in the 200, although I think both had qualifying times good enough to do so.

Regardless, we're clearly focused on maxing out the 28 points available in the 400 and 4x400 in Eugene. Prayers up & fingers crossed.
