Like I said the other day, the bail out at UNCG continues.

UNCG named former Radford Head Coach as their new basketball coach. In turn, Radford just named his replacement.
Why do HBCUs typically go through a long drawn out process of search committees and interim tags and all that madness???

Mostly because everybody and their entourage on an HBCU campus have got to get their their two cents worth in on who they think should be hired while the people who really should be making those decisions (ADs and college presidents) are hamstrung by the overblown need for imaginary inclusion and the illusion of "transparency."
Just my opinion. I haven't had my coffee yet.

UNCG lost another key piece to their roster last night - Jarrett Hensley Chooses Cincinnati By BRETT STEIN
For the third time this week Cincinnati Menβs Basketball Head Coach Wes Miller is bringing another play from the transfer portal into the Bearcats program. Former UNCG Jarrett Hensley, a 6β8β 205lb. forward who can play the 3 and 4 positions has committed to Cincinnati on his social media account. The former composite 4-star recruit in the 2020 class from Link Year Prep (Branson, MO) held offers out of high school from the likes of LSU, UNLV, Grand Canyon, Kent State and a handful of others before he signed with UNC Greensboro. 247sports.com/college/cincinnati/Article/Jarrett-Hensley-Chooses-Cincinnati-164574295/

I'm simply talking about our decision-making processes. If it's a consequence of finances, fine. But sometimes it seems nonsensical.

I'm simply talking about our decision-making processes. If it's a consequence of finances, fine. But sometimes it seems nonsensical. just saying, given the "history" of hbcu's relative to pwc's in this country, you cannot compare the way pwc's operate to how hbcu's operate. particularly when it comes to the hiring process. do you think everything is "equal" between hbcu's and pwc's? do you not understand the "inequities" between hbcu's and pwc's? pwc's attract applicants that most hbcu's have no chance of attracting. do you really think the wes miller's of the world would apply to coach at an hbcu and accept the level of pay that hbcu's offer? so the hbcu hiring process is gonna differ from that of pwc's because most hbcu's are not as well "funded" as pwc's and most hbcu's do not attract as many applicants as most pwc's do. so of course if you're better funded than hbcu's and you attract more qualified applicants than hbcu's, you cannot expect hbcu's to make quicker decisions during their hiring process as pwc's do. so i say "self hate" because a lot of our very own hbcu alums are so "critical" of hbcu's. that to me is "self hate". it's as if "white is always right"...

And another UNCG starter heads to southern Ohio. McGinnis was a good looking freshman. That pretty much clears out the pathway for Kobe to start beside Keyshawn. I think that works out well for Team Langley.

Looks like Mike Jones got a questionable one to stay.

The transfer portal is changing everything about college basketball. It is free agency on steroids and is affecting coaching, recruiting, high schools, scholarships and education. It will take at least two years to settle down but it will still create an environment is completely different. I'm not sure kids will make good choices in this environment. Some will, most won't. In addition, many coaches will begin to take the idea of a one-year scholarship agreement literally.

isaiah miller is da man, that was uncg's best player the last couple of years. he's a version of kwe parker on steroids. with the extra covid year to play around with, i'm surprised he hasn't tested the waters to play on a "major d1 p5" squad. i'm sure there's plenty of p5 teams out there that would luv to have him...
