i just know that if i was maynor, it would've pissed me off when prime said that maynor was trying to make a name for himself off of prime. that's very "arrogant" on prime's part. basically saying hey look at me, i'm "famous" and the only reason ya'll come after me is because ya'll are trying to become "famous" like me.
regarding maynor, perhaps prime should've done his "homework" before he said that because had he done so, he would've found that maynor has "always" been a very "outspoken" head coach long before prime ever became a head coach. so it ain't like maynor just suddenly became an "outspoken" coach when his team played prime's team. instead, maynor has "always" been that way and it don't take a lot of "research" to figure that out...

Thing is, and this sort of piggybacks off 4XL's post as well, Deion came in with a whole "I'm the HBCU Jesus" platform. You have coaches who have been here for ages working their asses off, and this guy who would've laughed and made fun of our programs if we tried to recruit him is gonna come in and make us his pet project? Where were you when St. Paul's was closing, FAMU athletics was repeatedly getting cut off at the knees, Ayantee was mired in a record losing streak, or Savannah State had to schedule Oklahoma State to pay basic bills? I get Deion's points, but I get EVERYBODY else's points too. Maynor was tame imo. Honestly I think his experience at Hampton (especially against Broadway lol) humbled him some. Maynor took a d-2 HBCU to the national championship game. What's Deion's coaching claim to fame? Exactly

COACH SEES THAT Portal is wide open think back to his best Ram Team had lot of D1 Transfers. It's all about winning at this point. That's at all schools. The myth of the education and student athletes is dead

Coalition launches program to lift minority football coachesAn organization started by Maryland's Mike Locksley is trying to help advance the careers of minority football coaches by connecting them with the people who do the hiring in college sports. The National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches launched its first Coalition Academy this week. The program matches coaches and athletic directors for mentorship. Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, Notre Dame defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, Nevada head coach Jay Norvell, UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo and Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis are among the 12 coaches participating. The rest of the coaches taking part are Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton; Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson; Tennessee running backs coach Jerry Mack; Miami defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson; Florida A&M head coach Willie Simmons; Illinois defensive coordinator Ryan Walters; and Florida International defensive coordinator Everett Withers. "There are so many talented coaches of color out there that can be great head coaches. And we wanted to make sure that when they get that opportunity that they're prepared so that they're successful," Reed-Francois said. "And then also when they get that opportunity, we want to be authentic advocates for them as well." I see Jalon Jones from Jackson State has put his name in transfer Portal..I like to see him wit a decent line. i saw him play against grambling and to me he appeared to be more of a "running qb" than a "pocket passing qb". he ripped grambling to pieces with his legs, had several very long runs. but not so much "passing" the football. yet he's very athletic and like you implied, he'd probably shine if he had a pretty good offensive line. he reminded me of nccu's former qb chauncy caldwell but a much better runner that passes the football about the same as caldwell did...

Coach Prime is a big boy, he should be able to take a jab or two. Sounds like he whining about somebody standing in the spotlight he planned for himself. I agree with Maynor, 4 and 5 stars are gonna have to show up on gameday. Talking about the horses in the stable when the race is running proves nothing. I sincerely hope those 4 and 5 stars pan out for Coach Prime, because if not, the little jabs he appears sensitive to now are gonna be haymaker body blows.

This will be good to watch come fall. I am not convinced the fact that Deion Sanders has flipped a few D1-A recruits that Jackson State has arrived. They still have to play the games. And if he isn't careful, he will find himself getting beat by my count several conference teams. Here's my list:
1. Alcorn State 2. Southern University 3. Alabama A&M 4. Alabama State
Now, let's add that Florida A&M will bring a nice loaded squad to the SWAC this season. And BCU will be nothing to sneeze at. And lastly, Grambling and Prairie View will be nobody's pushover. So, no one can make him shut-up but, he does need to have his team prepared just as much as he likes to be in front of a microphone.
