Why we saying wow like we didn’t know E Bell was kinda slow? Lol I say wow, because I knew he wasn't a burner but 4.8 explains the Duke game shutdown. Which then lets scouts know that no speed separation with equal strength from the DB equals no production. Also explains the coaches play calls for Bell. They were definitely playing to his strengths and put him in the best position to succeed based on his talents and didnt try to turn him into something else.

No disrespect to what he is saying, but there is a saying something like "if you stay ready you don't have to get ready." I understand the pandemic and everything but if you know that playing football is your dream, what you want to do, you've already seen Professional football didn't skip a beat. Opportunities could/would become available whether HBCU combine or some other way at some point. We've heard the stories of guys working at FedEx one week in the NFL the next, they managed to stay ready. It is possible, the NFL has the feel good stories time and again, typically for those that "stay ready", sometimes working 2 jobs to make ends meet but still manage to "stay ready". You hear them say things like "I never gave up on my dream" while stocking shelves at some retailer or warehouse. Not trying to call it excuses but sometimes we have to look in the mirror. Shoot, I'm sure there will be a story like that this year, the WFT already signed a former college power forward as a TE (stay ready).

i agree that you'd rather have more time to prepare, but you can accomplish "a lot" in a months time. i mean, think about it? preseason training camp is only about a month long before guys play their first game of the season.
so unless he was just sitting on the couch eating a bunch of junk food and getting fat, he still should've been able to prepare better for the combine in my opinion. it only takes about a month to get into football playing shape, but i could understand wanting more time than that.
lack of top level speed was why some aggies were suggesting he should've "bulked up" to change positions from a wr to a "pass catching" tightend...
