Whatley will be a grad transfer. Really strong rebounder, plays good sound defense and has a decent low post game with a little range but not a big scorer. He's a big physical blue collar banger at 6-8,240. Just what the doctor ordered.
A four man rotation down low. I'm good now.

I just saw this one pop up this evening... High School | Consensus four-star recruit…Listed by 247Sports.com as the nation's No. 45 overall player and the No. 8 shooting guard in 2018-19…Member of ESPN's Top 100 list, which also ranked him as the No. 17 small forward nationally…Ranked the 47th-best player in the country by Future150.com while Rivals.com had him at No. 84 overall and No. 21 at his position…Scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead top-ranked Buford to the 2019 Georgia state championship….The Atlanta Journal Constitution named him First-Team All-State Class AAAAA and the Gwinnett County Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019…Secured All-State honors by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association in each of his last three seasons…Led Buford in both scoring and rebounding at 17.7 points (513 total) and 5.6 rebounds (163 total) per game in 2018-19…Also added 1.5 steals (43 total) per game…Helped lead Buford to the 2017 Class AAAAA state championship after pouring in 27 points in the state title game against Cedar Shoals…Averaged 22.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a junior and 18.6 points and 9.1 rebounds as a sophomore.
