Did we just make offers to these kids or do we have a legitimate shot at them, particularly the 6-8 and 6-9 kids?

Don't look at this thread then... just check the recruiting commitments thread.  wasn't trying to offend nobody. the thread title says mbb transfer portal which i took to mean who was transferring out from a&t and who was transferring in to a&t. so unless someone is leaving or coming to a&t, i'm really not that interested unless someone is leaving nccu which i enjoy finding out about...  I created this one because it was pointed out that there is a Commitments thread for the ones we actually sign. I did this one just to track ANY MBB transfer portal action that might be relevant to us for those out there who MIGHT be interested in seeing it and seeing some of the process. If that's not your taste, that's perfectly OK. Just keep it moving on the Commitments thread. |

Some of these are also recruits with local ties and past relationships with the Team Felton/CP3 AAU families that could possibly come back into play. But it gives us an indication of how crazy this COVID-19 portal season is. And you can begin to imagine how fluid & difficult it is for a D1 coach to manage recruiting in this sort of environment. |

He went to the high school where my oldest daughter went and where my youngest daughter goes now...Cox Mill. He played with Wendell Moore  when they won 2 NC state ships and would be a pretty decent player for us. |

Did they need the transfer portal to get talent? Any player could already drop a division without sitting out, as i see it nothing changes for them as far as players coming to them. What does change is the ability of one of their stars to be scooped up by a larger program..or am I reading this all wrong

More than 700 kids in the portal! I couldn't think straight if I was a coach this year.

What does change is the ability of one of their stars to be scooped up by a larger program..or am I reading this all wrong A lot changes because you have just as many people leaving as you do available to come in. The other thing is you have to better scrutinize your high school recruits in terms of fit because they will jump in portal in a minute. Coach Jones says it becomes like a JUCO in terms of recruiting because you have to be prepared to recruit for up to nine new players every year. That means coaching a brand new team each year. And the biggest thing is that you have to do it all virtually, with no visits. That could disappoint both the coach and the recruit once the player gets on campus. |

A 4-star point guard (5-10), tremendous shooter, playmaker and local kid from Walkertown.
