Ok all of our new portal transfers are now signed, sealed, and delivered.

When does entry to the portal end? At one time a NLI was only binding the first time you signed, has that changed? If you signed a second time it was only binding on the school. I guess what I'm asking is what to stop a player from signing and then reneging?

The school that he or she signed with originally would have to agree to release that athlete from their letter in order to enter the portal.
Keep in mind that the very recent NCAA legislation allows for a one time only transfer where a player does not have sit out a year and can play immediately at his or her new school.
Add in the Covid rule that didn't count this year toward anyone's eligibility, well, it was the perfect storm for mass reshuffling across the board.
The key phrase in the new transfer rule is "one time only." Transfer a second time and you will have to sit out as before. I seriously don't think you'll see too many transfer situations going forward like this year where some 3200 athletes entered the portal at once.
Unfortunately a great many of them probably overestimated their market value and never dreamed there would be such an enormous talent pool out there. It's truly a coach's market if you will.
Those basketball players still floating in limbo by the end of the spring are going to have to see if they can possibly return to their old schools or transfer into lesser programs or down to D-2 or even D-3. In most cases, not all, they were pretty much replaced the day they sought their release.
With spring practice concluded, football will undoubtedly see a similar type of movement over the summer but it won't be nearly as taxing on the athletes looking to move because of the vastly greater numbers required to field a D-1 football team.
It's a confusing and frustrating time in college athletics for all parties concerned. It's going to take another year or so for things settle into this new norm.
Free agency, albeit somewhat limited in scope, for better or worse, is now a distinct and permanent part of collegiate sports. College programs will have to adjust accordingly. Thankfully A&T has shown that it was well prepared for it in this initial phase.

When does entry to the portal end? When the coach plays this fantasy game card....

Langley will be a liability in BS play
Last year he avg 3TO to 6.7 Assist per game including a 10 TO game versus FAMU.
Not great stats for a star PG

Last year what I saw was a lot of chemistry issues with the team. No practice time showed up early and often for everyone (the Citadel game still has me heated). Alot times Langley was trying to make something happen and his teammates weren't ready. Give him ample practice time to build chemistry with this group again, I guarantee that avg TO margin would go down.

The reality was the loss of Ron Jackson (and to a lesser extent, Devin Haygood) really shifted how this team needed to operate on offense. I underestimated how much we would miss them. We really needed an offseason to sort that out. Individual work got done, but no team work. I think about how bad squads like Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Michigan St all struggled with the COVID offseason. Having a normalized offseason will definitely help. But just being honest... no one on our roster was capable of being the playmaker that Ron was. And that hurts a PG and the other role players. I just like our playmaking potential better arond Kam in 2021-22.

LANGLEY A liability must be the side effects of the Vaccine Shot..I heard it make your mind come and go for a while..please get your Booster Shot Asap. Nahh side effect of anything...he isnt good. He will be a liability...against taller teams he kept doing the dumb drive to the hole looking for contact and losing the ball. You guys are drinking the aggie Koolaid and being fooled by his performance in the MEAC.
